when you have a sneaking suspicion that what you're about to do probably isn't that bright?
i had that this morning, about to take a shower. sure enough, i'd been in there what, 15mins (had to shave my legs, okay?) when the fire alarm went off. aaaaah. shampoo still in my hair, i rinsed it out hurriedly, grabbed my towel, ran to my room, grabbed keys, threw on shoes, tossed on pyjamas, and went outside. oh, not cool. there's always one. and it's been me twice now. see, we know we have fire drills sometime during Week 1. and they're always in the morning. therefore it's a risk for anyone to take a shower, lest they be caught. what a mental start to the day. all i can say is, thank god it wasn't raining.
went to my Issues in Historical Thought briefing. pretty much a waste of time, but confirmed my thoughts that this course will be boring as hell. and it will cost me $140 in textbooks. yay! there goes that dress i wanted to buy for the Summer Ball... i have two seminars in a row on Fridays, on opposite parts of the campus. it will not be amusing, and by the time i've sat through 2hrs of one, i will be so unmotivated to talk in the second one. shite timetabling.
The Jack is back, by the way. arrived last night. wanted to get here in time for his economics exam. he isn't contagious anymore, and feeling loads better, but is still teetotalling and sleeping lots.
Maggie and her man are going wild today, it's fun. the geese are the perfect distraction for reluctant revision, even worse than Facebook - and that's saying something. a bunch of us were sat in the kitchen, watching the ducks too. the three that were there last term have now gone down to one. we suspect that Gary and Mary ran off in mating season (despite all those "rape flights"), leaving Barry all on his own. since Barry is the cuteste little Mallard in the world, we think the reason for his being left behind is something else. Barry's gay, clearly. Barry the duck is now Barry Manilow, ahaha. yes, we're aware we shouldn't spend so much time doing this, but most people are involved, haha. desperate attempts at procrastnation. there are even talks of starting a betting pool with the other corridors about when Maggie's eggs are going to hatch, haha. i love this campus!!
