quiet weekend

Mar 09, 2009 11:02

that's not to say i was productive, just didn't go out and spend lots of money. can't remember Friday evening. Saturday evening was chilled out, ate good dinner, played Life with Chris in the kitchen, with Lee, Jack, and Alex as spectators. then watched Q.I. with Chris before going to bed. i need to find a way to keep having my weekly Stephen Fry next year...
Sunday, did a bit of reading for today's food&drink seminar. it's the last one! how weird. wrote letters to Omi, Oma and Opa, Tante Chris, and Wood. need to phone Tante Chris today for her birthday, eek. then, while i was supposed to be baking apple crumble, i just ended up chatting to Hannah. i'm not sure if it's lucky or not for Chris and Arthur that their girlfriends get along so well. i mean, on the one hand, social gatherings are never awkward, on the other... we are devious and gang up on them together. there are many not-so-nice plans to kick Emily and Ngaio out and reclaim our men, ahaha. she's an absolute sweetheart, that Hannah. i am certainly going to miss her! she suggested that over Easter, Chris and i should join her and Arthur at her dad's empty flat in Bristol for a few days. the nightlife is great, as is the shopping, and there are great touristy bits too. a getaway never to be forgot. sounds stellar, no? yayyy.
also, since Emily is looking into allowing me to stay with her in a few weeks, this is shaping up to be the best Easter break (or break of any kind, really) ever!
of course, this means i have to survive my last few weeks. especially my assessed essay for food&drink. i'm either writing about the politicization of drinks or the cosmopolitization of the English diet. hmmm. tonight's the pub quiz at McQ's (dare we hope for another winning week?). Thursday is the Rounders social. Hannah started up a Rounders Club for York, so they're having their first (social) gathering on Thursday (Gallery night) and she needs a few of us non-participants there to boost numbers. next weekend, though it's the last one of term(!) it'll probably be quite dead too because lots of kids will be doing essays, open exams, or preparing for closed exams. open exams are where you get the exam paper at, 4:30pm for example, and you have either 24hrs or 48hrs to complete it and hand it in. they have their ups and downs. i prefer closed exams, getting it over with in 3hrs.
as some of you may have seen(?) from my Facebook status, i am indeed considering postgrad degrees. a Masters, more specifically. more to come about this later.
it is a beautifully sunny and breezy day out, mmm.

weather, school, television, college life, england, friends, boys
