Hmph. I have also been made aware of these creatures' amazing propensity for killing. It would seem that the residents have no.. [long tapping of the pen forms an odd set of pecks in the paper]

They do not have a champion to protect them.

How unlucky.

I was trying to go get my cat, and one of them bit my ankle and it got all swollen.

That will happen with insect bites.

Well, yeah. But that was just one bite. I'm just lucky it didn't bite me somewhere more... vital. Or more than once.

I can defend myself! It was just faster than I thought.

Then you are not good enough at it.

There are no excuses. They do not keep you alive. Excuses are for the dead and the damned, you are lucky you are neither.

Yeah. I know. That's one of the reasons I wanted to go to the Scavenger's Yard. There's trash monsters there sometimes to fight.

I have not been warned of ants in the Scavenger's Yard. It may be safe. Ask a Guard.

Someone said they were. So... I don't know. Maybe I'll wait until this is all over. Or find someone to spar against.

That may also be an acceptable way to facilitate your growth.
