Because I know that some people are good. Because I have friends, and I know they wouldn't hurt me. Because I know that there's good in people. Because if there's no hope for humans, then that might mean there's no hope for the rest of us. And I can't believe that something like that is true.

Human concepts; how deceiving. "Friends" or "good" ones can very well hurt other friends or other humans given the right trigger. Hardly difficult to achieve, what with humans being the foolish creatures they are. In that case, it is also ludicrous for you to place humans in such high regard. Perhaps you need to place your hopes in more capable beings.
