I was talking to Brian Stewart at lunch today and an interesting concept came up ( Read more... )

Think of all the things that wouldn't exist if people were asexual, all the wonderful things like Romeo and Juliet, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and masturbation.

Haha. Okay! I admit defeat! This would never work! Because we are humans!!! I am human, and I was merely thinking outside of the box. Newton and Eistein tought outside of the box. My theory is a form of science fiction.

Romeo and Juliet was written perhaps by a gay poet, so that disqualifies your argument. Yes, Shakespeare kept a male companion. What I did or did not do I do not even want to think about.

Don't even mention mastrubation with me; you know I am catholic.:) What's wrong with you?

Ok then you think that my theory wasn't outrageous? Outrageous theories are popular and outrageous books will sell. Ie sound and the fury.

If you think my mind is closed, then elighten me with your open mind. Tell me what you think. tell me what you believe is right. Influence me with your righteousness instead of merely putting down my science fiction theories.

Show me an "open" mind.

I;m not sure Shakespeare being guy invalidates my arguement, gay love is still love directed toward someone else, something that wouldn't happen in an asexual world.

Though, I guess you can argue that in an asexual, the love that dare not speak it's name would be love directed towards someone else. So, maybe external love would exist, and since there's only one sex, that means it would the forbidden love would still be gay love.

But since there wouldn't be any guys it woul be lesbian love.

It's kind of beautiful that the love between two (preferably hot and young) women (and maybe even more than two, like a curious roomate who stumbled on them, and then some more rommates walked in) is something so pure that it can exist anywhere, even a weird alternate dimension where humans are asexual.

We were talking about the love needed for reproduction not other kinds of love. There are many different kinds, including lvoe for your mother.

There wouldn't be a sex in an asexual world. And there would be no urge to mate if there we no need to
you would not get the same desires.

Max! Keep your desires to yourself. You've been reading too many naughty stories.

There's a class of animals called Bdelloidea, they evolved from nonasexual animals to asexual, and they evolved from the females of their concester.
