Kim Jun Su, a 5th grade Religion teacher, let out a deep and heavy sigh as he gathered his things. It was the end of the day - finally, and he couldn’t wait to get home to his loving husband, Park Yoo Chun.
His day at school was the same as always - stressful, yet very meaningful; he was lucky that all his students were passing his class. Normally, since most Religion teachers are as boring as hell, students wouldn’t take interest in the subject and slack off but not in Jun Su’s class. All the students passed with flying colors due to Jun Su’s exceptional teaching skills in the subject. The way he described heaven, and the way he described how merciful and giving God is it’s almost as though he has seen it first hand.
Almost.
But almost was an understatement.
You see, Jun Su truly did experience these things first hand, he has seen heaven, seen God, seen all the saints, he’s seen them all how, you ask? Simple - he was an angel, a former angel, at least.
Today was a special day for Jun Su, for it was the day God had allowed him to be human, it was also the day he and his husband had gotten married; it was their anniversary.
But unlike him, Park Yoo Chun was no angel; he was the exact opposite of Jun Su.
Your husband is such a demon, Jun Su!
How could such a sweet angel such as yourself stand to be with such a devil??
Comments like those were not new to Jun Su; he got them almost everyday. For Yoo Chun had always been grumpy, high-strung, and just plain mean to everyone. Everyone but Jun Su. He was so rude to everyone else, that people would always comment that he was almost as mean as the devil.
However, almost, again, was an understatement.
Like Jun Su, he was an angel - an angel of darkness, that is. And just like Jun Su, God had allowed him to be human.
With one more heavy sigh heaved out, Jun Su exited the school campus. All he wanted was for this day to be perfect; he wanted nothing to go wrong, the next day could be the beginning of Armageddon for all he cared, just not that day. It was his and Yoo Chun’s special day, after all.

Jun Su got off the elevator on the 5th floor, where his apartment with Yoo Chun was located. The distance between the elevator and unit 1226, his unit, was quite far, considering it was a big building.
As he walked, he noticed his neighbor, Kim Jae Joong, walking around the 5th floor, Jun Su raised his hand to greet him, but before he could even utter a word, Jae Joong already beat him to it,
“Ah, hello, Jun Su; just the person I was looking for“, Jae Joong greeted calmly, “Do you notice anything different about me today?”
Jun Su looked Jae Joong up and down, and indeed, noticed something different,
“Umm, I don’t see princess anywhere.”
“Exactly! And do you know why?” Jae Joong was getting less calm/
“No?” Jae Joong let out a sigh before exclaiming,
“Your damn husband, Park Yoo Chun, kicked princess again today! But only this time, he kicked her too hard that she came flying out that window,” Jae Joong pointed at the big window to the left, “and died!”
“Oh my gosh!” Jun Su exclaimed, flabbergasted; dead cats were definitely something he couldn’t stomach, “Are you serious? Princess died? I’m so sorry! -”
“She was my only companion!” Jae Joong said, a tear running down his flawless cheek, “and your stupid demon husband killed her! Jun Su, you’re a great person and all, but seriously, you could do so much better than that bastard from hell!”
“Jae Joong,” Jun Su sighed, he hated foul language, “I know you’re upset, but please watch your language, you know I can’t countenance that. I’ll talk to Yoo Chun about it, okay?”
“Alright.” Jae Joong sighed, “and sorry about that.”
“It’s alright.” Jun Su smiled, “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Okay, so one thing went wrong, but other than that, nothing else was allowed to go wrong.
“Jun Su hyung! Jun Su hyung!” Another one of Jun Su’s neighbors, Shim Chang Min, the 18-year-old college student, called out, “Jun Su hyung!”
“Yes, Chang Min? Is something the matter?”
“Yoo Chun hyung broke my bike! Now how am I supposed to get around? I don’t have a car, either.”
Jun Su let out yet another one of his many, deep and heavy sighs, “I’ll see what I can do about it, okay? I’ll go talk to him, in the meantime,” he said, taking out an extra large box of chocolate, “have this. To placate you for the time being.”
“Wow~~!” Chang Min’s eyes glistened, “Is this Swedish chocolate?”
“Uh-huh. It’s the best anyone can find, I hope that makes you feel better for now.”
“It does!” Chang Min exclaimed, crushing Jun Su with his tremendously strong hug, “Thanks, hyung!” with that, Chang Min ran off to his apartment, wherein he would, indisputably, devour the chocolate.
Okay, that’s two this time, hopefully there won’t be a third.
“JUN SUUUUUUUUU!!” Somebody called out. Jun Su turned around and found Hee Chul, Jae Joong’s cousin-slash-next-door-neighbor glaring at him, an outrageously colored shirt in his hands,
“Hi, Hee Chul! How’s it go-”
“That ‘Yoo Chun’ of yours, totally ruined my perfectly good and fabulous tee shirt! It’s ruined! Look at it!” Hee Chul interrupted, raising the offensive-looking, outrageously colored shirt - neon colors clashing together with primary, secondary and tertiary colors; it was painful to the eye.
“What did he do?” Jun Su asked, not taking his eyes off the ridiculous shirt, despite its harshness to the eye.
“I was washing my fabulous designer shirt downstairs in the laundry room, when I happened to see him. I asked if he could watch it for me while I went to the bathroom, he said okay, and when I got back, I found my shirt bleached together with other revolting looking shirts! Now my shirt is ruined by the colors of those other hideous shirts! Jun Su, what do I do??”
“Relax, how much was that shirt?” Jun Su asked,
“400,000 won.”
“Ouch. Alright, I’ll try to replace it, and I’ll talk to Yoo Chun about it as well, okay?”
“Alright.” Hee Chul turned his back, and headed back to his apartment. Jun Su quickly ran to his own unit, before anything else could go wrong. It was bad enough that there were three, he just hoped that there wouldn’t be a fourth.

“Jun Su, you’re home!” Yoo Chun greeted lovingly as he ran all the way to the doorstep to give his husband a hug and a peck on the lips, “How was your day?”
“Same - stressful.” Jun Su answered, taking off his jacket and placing it on the rack, “Did you know you killed Jae Joong’s Persian cat, princess?”
“Yup.” He answered nonchalantly,
“And did you know you broke Chang Min’s bike?”
“Uh-huh.”
“And did you know you ruined the designer shirt of Hee Chul?”
“Yeah.”
“How could you do that!” Jun Su exclaimed as he walked over and plopped himself down on the couch, “Don’t you have a conscience?”
“No, I don’t. I’m a devil, remember?” Yoo Chun said, settling himself beside Jun Su on the couch, “I don’t do any good, except to you, because you’re my husband and I love you.”
“I love you, too” but aren’t you even going to replace all the things you destroyed?”
“Why should I? They’re not yours!”
“Yoo Chun,” Jun Su turned to face his husband, “I’m glad that you treat me well, I really am, but God said, ‘Love your neighbors as you love yourself,’ why can’t you?” Yoo Chun rolled his eyes,
“Look at you, you’re a Religion teacher, and you’re reciting passages from the Bible when you’re gay.”
“I’m not gay,” Jun Su said confidently, “hypothetically speaking, the two of us are angels, well, two different kinds, that is, and angels are genderless, neither man, nor woman. Therefore, that does not make me, or you, gay.”
“Yeah, but hypothetically speaking, as well, as humans, we’re both guys, we both have-”
“Don’t say the word!” Jun Su interrupted, pointing a finger at Yoo Chun,
“Whaaaaat?” Yoo Chun leered as he grinned impishly, “It’s not like it’s a bad word, and it’s a scientific name, pen-”
“DON’T SAY IT!” Jun Su interrupted once more, covering his ears, “You’ve proven your point. But just because people think we’re gay, doesn’t mean we are.”
“Whatever you say.” Yoo Chun said lackadaisically, slumping down on his seat, and turning on the T.V. Jun Su just stared at him, pouting, and finally, he noticed
“What is it, my sweet?”
“Don’t you know what day it is?” Jun Su asked with his head bent down, still pouting. Yoo Chun turned his head to look at the calendar,
“It’s Thursday today, July 29, why?” Jun Su’s mouth gaped.
“You mean, you don’t know?”
“Don’t know what? Is today some kind of special day or something?” That was the last straw. One thing goes wrong, he can handle, two, three, he still could, but four? No way. He couldn’t take it; jumping off the couch, Jun Su yelled, pointing at Yoo Chun.
“I- I hate you! For seven millenniums, or rather, seven human years, we’ve been married, and you don’t remember what day it is? I wanted this day to be perfect, but you ruined it! You- you devil! I hate you!”
“Jun Su, what’s the matter with you?” Yoo Chun asked, following Jun Su into the bedroom, “What did I do?”
“I’m not talking to you.” Jun Su said, getting his towel and heading off to their bathroom.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m taking a four-hour long bath. I hope you have enough to pay for the water bill, because the bill’s going to go up dramatically once I’m done!” with that, Jun Su banged the door in Yoo Chun’s face.
Yoo Chun stood in from of the bathroom, puzzled, trying to figure out why Jun Su was so upset, maybe Jae Joong knew why. Determined to find out what he did wrong, Yoo Chun headed off to Jae Joong’s unit.

“Jae Joong! Kim Jae Joong!” Yoo Chun yelled as he banged on Jae Joong’s door,
“What do you want?!?” Jae Joong exclaimed as he opened the door, his eyes puffy and red, and in his hands laid a box of tissue, “Are you here to kill my goldfish, too?”
“Huh? No! I came here to ask you something,”
“What do you want to ask?”
“Umm, can I come in first?” Letting out an exasperated sigh, Jae Joong stepped aside, giving way to Yoo Chun.
“Thank you.” Yoo Chun said once he entered, he noticed there were many photos in picture frames of Jae Joong and his Persian cat, princess, on display everywhere, apparently, Jae Joong loved that cat a lot, and for once in his life, Yoo Chun felt guilty. Diverting his attention back to Jun Su, Yoo Chun asked, “Do you know why Jun Su’s upset?”
“Maybe he realized he married a jackass and got upset.” Jae Joong grumbled,
“Huh?”
“Nothing. Why, what happened between the two of you?”
“Well, we were talking about… stuff earlier, and then all of a sudden, he was all, ‘do you know what day it is?’ and I was like, ‘no. Is it a special day or something?’ and then he was like, ‘I hate you!’ and then went to take a four-hour long bath. He only takes that long when he’s upset. Do you know why he’s upset?”
“OMG. Seriously?” Jae Joong looked at him with an are-you-kidding-me look, “Today’s your anniversary! How could you forget? You’ve been married for how long? 7 years? Yet you still forget? You are the worst husband ever.”
“Shit! No wonder!” Yoo Chun cursed, “Jae Joong, please, considering you have superior skills in the kitchen, can you please help me bake a cake? Jun Su only likes home-made cakes.”
“As if!” Jae Joong scoffed, “After killing my precious princess, you think I’ll actually help you? In your dreams!”
“Look, Jae Joong, I’m sorry about your cat, but let’s make a deal.”
“A deal?” Jae Joong cocked an eyebrow, “What deal?”
“You’re gay, right?”
“Well, yeah.”
“How would you like it if I hooked you up with this really hot guy, then will you help me?”
“I don’t think that’s such a good idea. I haven’t dated in a long time.”
“See! It’s the cat that was holding you back! His name’s Yun Ho, he’s a genuinely nice guy, I think you guys would go good together. What do you say? Please?”
“Oh, all right.” Jae Joong surrendered, “But I’m only doing this for Jun Su, okay?”
“Thank you! We have less than four hours, do you think you can make it?”
“Duh. I’m me.”

As soon as Jun Su finished getting dressed, he heaved out a sigh, was Yoo Chun really that insensitive? They’ve been together for ages! The least he could do was remember! Hanging his head, Jun Su sluggishly dragged himself out the bedroom.
As he did, he was surprised to see Yoo Chun, Jae Joong, Chang Min, Hee Chul, and a bunch of other people he didn’t recognize in his living room, with a cake, and all those cheesy decorations he always adored.
“HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!” They all greeted in unison as soon as Jun Su stepped into the living room, ecstatic, Jun Su turned and found Yoo Chun, smiling widely at him.
“Happy anniversary, Su,” Yoo Chun greeted with a chaste kiss on the lips, “How do you like it? I got everyone to help out.”
“Huh? How?” Jun Su asked, perplexed, “I thought they all hated you? No offense, though.”
“None taken. You see, I made it up to them - I introduced Yun Ho to Jae Joong, and look at how well they’re getting along,” Yoo Chun said, pointing at Jae Joong and Yun Ho, who were shamelessly flirting with each other on the couch/
“Yun Ho? Your devil friend, Yun Ho?”
“Yeah. He’s a nice guy, and I thought it was a good way to make it up to him after murdering his cat.”
“Aww, you’re so sweet!” Jun Su squealed, pecking Yoo Chun on the cheek, “What about Chang Min and Hee Chul?”
“I gave him money to buy a new bike, although I think he spent it on food, and as for Hee Chul, I reimbursed his shirt, and I allowed him to bring all his, ‘fabulous’ friends along.”
“You’re the best, Yoo Chun! And people call you a demon.”
“Well, theoretically, I am, but that doesn’t mean I’m all that bad, ever since I met you, I always wanted to become a better… uh, entity, but you can’t blame me for acting evil every once in a while, I’m still a devil.” Jun Su smiled warmly at his husband and hugged him tight,
“Thank you, Yoo Chun. And, I’m sorry for getting mad at you earlier, you planned this whole thing, didn’t you?”
“Uh- yes, yes I did.” Yoo Chun lied; it was better that way anyway, rather than Jun Su finding out that he really did forget their anniversary, “And, I made you a card, I know it’s really corny and all, but you know” Jun Su got the card Yoo Chun gave him, and kissed his husband tenderly on the lips.
“I love you, Yoo Chun. This is the best anniversary ever!”

After sending everyone home, and after a rough, hot and sexy night together, Jun Su woke up the next morning in high spirits. He looked to his side, and found Yoo Chun sleeping sound asleep, if he weren’t a devil, Jun Su would’ve said he looked like a sleeping angel. Smiling warmly, Jun Su leaned over and placed a chaste kiss upon Yoo Chun’s forehead, and cuddled with him.
Jun Su was grateful to have Yoo Chun, someone who loved him despite the fact that they were supposed to be mortal enemies. His love story with Yoo Chun was a sappy, mushy, sometimes rocky, but always fluffy love story; and Jun Su couldn’t ask for more. Looks like he got the perfect anniversary that he wanted, after all - he didn’t need something big and flashy, all he wanted was something genuine from the heart, and he was glad that’s what he got.
