Welcome to December.

Since we've been having so much bizarre weather lately, it's become almost a cliche to predict the coming of armageddon in the near future (which is pretty weird when you think about it), but on the way home from my LAST CLASS OF THE SEMESTER today, the snow/hail/wind was falling/falling/blowing so hard I could barely make it from building to building without getting frostbite. Being from New Hampshire, I've always assumed that I've seen at least a couple somewhat bizarre weather conditions, but I think today was a completely unique experience. Not that it directly affected me, but thunder and lightning was also a part of the equation. I don't think I can ever remember snow and thunder and lightning collaborating before, but if this is a work of God, then You've hit the jackpot...all you have to do is prove it was You and we'll all be believers. But may I stop capitalizing even pronouns that apply to You?... if not, it's okay, really, it's not that big of a deal, it justs gets sort of old, that's all.

New Subject:

Poetry has never been my thing. It seems like poetry always must be poignant, unspontaneous, planned, scanned, advised upon, and revised on. For some reason I can't write poetry or read poetry with the reverence or thought that is seemingly necessary. On average, poetry makes you sound deep at least 90% of the time. If you introduced yourself as a poet to someone, they would instantly consider you way beyond their level. Of course, there are poets such as Shel Silverstein that avoid such trappings (although he is beyond just about everybody's [even(/especially) poets'] levels), most poems get analyzed and revised to death. Prose is more my style. I like direct meanings. Often poems will hide their true message (whether it exists or not) behind so many double-meanings and analyses that it is impossible--at least for a simpleton such as myself--to decipher for themselves. I can't do it. I can't shroud what I'm attempting to say so that only the intelligentsia can unveil it on their own. Consequently, I apologize to the intelligentsia out there.
