Point Reyes Day 3 -- Last Day

Apr 05, 2009 19:50

I want to thank Amy's camera especially  amy herself for being such a goddess. So I will continue to worship her and convert to Amyism.

Morning came pretty fast, maybe it was because we were so tired from the hike that took place yesterday. Everyone rushed and got ready, packing all their belongings into their bags. Our breakfast was made up of cereal, leftover dinner, yogurt, juices. After making our lunch, we received clean up duty. Everyone worked together to clean up the cabin. Because if we left it looking like crap, then this would be the last Point Reyes trip Oak Grove High would be making.

After we had finished cleaning, we all went on another hiking. This route took us to another point at the beach. There you can see a whole line of sea lions on the shore. Bathing in the sun. These 3 ton mammals were actually seal pups. The sea lion watchers came up and taught us about the seals and how every winter, the males would come up and claim their territory. The pregnant seals would come up, 12 per mal territory and have their pups. The males would fight other males when one crosses another’s territory. The fighting was really gory. Though we didn’t get to see it, only in pictures. Amy took a lot of photos, so that was good. There was a seal near our cabin, and we named it Bimbo. WE believe that it was the product of our love. ^-^ <3

After whale watching, we headed to our next stop before going back to San Jose. Drake’s Beach Oyster Farm. There I bought 6 Dozen Medium sized Oysters. Amy and I shared three and she went to go buy 1 Dozen large ones. We shared one of those. They looked soo ahhh! But in our mouths, they were soo YUM! After all our eating, we all stood around an oyster pool and learned how oysters were made.

its so yummy!

my face says its nasty, but my tummy wants more. really, it still does. ^-^

Our last stop was a picnic area at Bear Trail. Next to the San Andreas Fault Line. After having our lunch, Amy and I continued to go to the Visitor Center where I bought more postcards. I bought one postcard of the Lighthouse of Point Reyes and a booklet of postcards from all around the United States.

Our trip back was kind of fast. Mostly because I was I was really tired.

The ending of the day went by really quick unlike this morning. Mom had come to pick me up from school around 4pm. Got ready at home and went off to my uncles house to eat oysters and play with the baby. It was sad because as much as my uncle and I wanted to eat the oysters fresh, we didn’t have the right tools to open it. We each ate 4 and the rest was steamed. T-T
