Background Information

Each year, the Yonsei Deputy Head sends letters to eligible witches and wizards who will be fourteen (14) years old. These letters invite the children to be students at Yonsei. If for any reason a letter does not reach its intended recipient, owls will continue delivering letters until the person receives one. The letter

Sen's early years were spent in Estonia, where he attended private primary schools along with others of his kind, learned English, Japanese, Estonian, and other Slavic tongues, and developed a great love for all manner of sports. He attended a private primary school, and spent sporadic time in Japan as his father's career uprooted him on more than one occasion. Sen attended finishing school disguised as middle school, as well. While this ensured charm and all manner of finesse, it did little to break his wayward spirit, and he remained a carefree youth intent on devouring the fruits of life. Impulsive and adventurous he remained, despite all efforts to tame him.

To ensure Sen's development into a young, upstanding wizard worthy of the Mitsuji name, Sen's father made arrangements to send him to Durmstrang in his fourteenth year, a school known for its strict curriculum and straitlaced policies. Sen began his education at Durmstrang in the year 2005, and while he fit the mold for appearances' sake, he was by no means amongst the darkest or most depraved of his fellows. He dutifully followed the rigorous class and training schedules and became one of a sea of soldier-like students, groomed and trained to militant perfection. He wore the crest of Durmstrang and their red robes with pride, and wielded both wand and weapons with equal alacrity.

Upon the start of his 6th year, Mitsuji Sr. was appointed to a post in Korea, and in response to developments back home he arranged for Sen to transfer to Yonsei. He was most alarmingly sorted into Gryffindor, spent a half year at the Korean school and had begun to settle into the new lifestyle, new relations and routines, when his father uprooted him once again, displeased with activities his son had been engaging in and his apparent inability to manage his affairs with discretion and returned him promptly to Durmstrang. Completing 6th year there, Sen sobered significantly, cut off from relationships and routine. His proclivity for attachment had always been his Achilles' heel, something his father sought to break. Whether he has succeeded remains to be seen but there is no question that Sen has returned a changed young man.

Due to Mitsuji Sr's recent reassignment to Korean straits, he has brought Sen with him to Korea yet again, to complete his 7th year at Yonsei, under pretense of keeping a close eye on his activities.

Writing Sample:
Yonsei was, at first impression, a homely place. It lacked in pomp and circumstance but also in respect and rule - a diplomatic breeding ground, he thought, rather than a warrior's academy. Durmstrang had been a militant place, the dorms though lushly furnished were still rigid and barrack-like, and any event, even dinner, felt like part of a sharply boxed in regimen. Sen found himself listening for the head teacher's sharp call to stand at attention - but it did not come.

The 6th year stood tall amongst his peers, a halfling by face if not blood, and duly vertically inclined in the midst of a throng of Orientals. He was clad in black from head to toe and well recessed in the shadows of the hall as he leaned into the cool stone wall, weight balanced on one foot, the other pressed to the wall behind him. Awaiting his fate with a gaggle of transfers prior to Yonsei's famed Sorting Feast, he was ill at ease from inaction. Gaze hooded, he fingered a pack of cloves in the pocket of his robes, turning the box over and over between restless fingers.
