When Jongwoon entered his last year of middle, he developed his first crush but was too scared to ever speak to her. The thought of her ending up seeing him like everyone else did would simply break his heart, so he silently admired her from afar. Until one day that he would never forget. Jongwoon had been sitting behind a building at school, hiding in the shade and watching other students walking across the field. He spotted the girl and followed her every move with his eyes. Jongwoon was never really fond of the sun considering that it hurt his eyes if he was in it too long, sometimes even giving him headaches. But for some reason whenever she walked in the sunlight, he felt so thankful for the way the light shimmered through her dark locks of hair. However his moment of peace was shattered when some school bullies approached her and began harassing her. Jongwoon immediately rushed to her side to ask them to leave but instead they swung their fists at him, so it was really just self defense. But Jongwoon had been holding in his frustrations for too long and ended up taking it out on their faces. The girl was slightly frightened but still thankful to him. But Jongwoon felt like she deserved better than some freak like him.
When he returned home with blood on his knuckles and tears in his eyes, his mother finally broke down and decided to tell him who he really was. Jongwoon had never known anything about his father while growing up; nor was he ever really curious to know. His mother shared a bazaar story about how she met some mysterious man who was in town on business for a week. They hit it off and he quickly confessed to be not just a wizard, but also half vampire. The story was far too crazy to believe at first, but his mother never told him a lie and if she claimed to see him do magic, then she saw it. The man had to leave at the end of the week and the fling resulted in her never seeing the man again and Jongwoon being born 9 months later. And the more Jongwoon thought about the story and himself, the more it all made sense to him.
It wasn’t long after that that his letter from Yonsei arrived. He was more than eager to enroll; having new hopes of finally finding friends who would accept him for who he was.

Yoona beamed up at the sky like a little child as she saw the splashes of color against the dark background. "It’s so pretty!!" She said with a grin and stretched her hands up to the sky as she looked at the fireworks.
Yoona stood next to Seung Gi, looking up towards the bursting colors. After a moment, she slowly turned her eyes toward him, gazing up at the tall man that seemed to fascinate her more than the fireworks did. She couldn't stop the small smile that snuck across her face. Yoona suddenly noticed his eyes turn towards her and she quickly reverted her sight back to the fireworks, blushing slightly in the process as she usually did when she was with him. She was glad it was a snowy New Years because the cold air helped to cool her burning cheeks. Although it didn’t help to calm her heart.
