Toyama Con 20070725 Report
Before reading this, please understand that this is my first time writing a report (this is also my first time going to a concert) so I am not that good. And since I’m a big Ryo fan, there will be a lot of ‘Ryo did this’ and ‘Ryo did that’. Since I don’t have such a good memory, I might mess up a bit. There are also a few parts that are hard to explain in English, so I might use some Japanese words. And I would like to apologize beforehand for any grammar mistakes or whatsoever…;p Hope you’ll enjoy reading it!!!
I went with my friend. She’s actually my senior. ;p Her name is Sue. Sue is a Shota fan. She used to be a Ryo fan. We went to the 2nd show of the day which started at 5:30 pm.
11:00 am
We started lining up to buy the goods. There were a couple of times when EITO arrived in white vans. Some of the fans just got out of the line and started running towards the vans. Since they had curtains in the van, so it was impossible to see anyone inside. For the first time, I heard from some of the girls’ conversation that it was Yoko, Shota and Ohkura. The second time, it was Subaru, Shota and maybe Ryo. The third time it was Shota and Yoko. It doesn’t make any sense right? (?_?)
Around 12:30
We bought the goods and met up with my Japanese friend. She is a Shota fan. She was going to the 1st concert which was starting at 2. We took pictures of the trucks. But we weren’t allowed to go near it. While we were chatting, a Japanese girl started shouting and pointing towards the back entrance of the hall. We saw Yoko running from who knows where wearing only black knee-length shorts and jumped over a fence and went straight inside the hall. Clearly it was Yoko, yet my Japanese friend kept saying it was Shota. ;p I’m just going to let her believe what she wants to.
1:00 pm
Those who were going to the 1st concert started lining up. I was chatting with my friend when I saw a staff coming out of the back entrance and right behind him was again Yoko, still wearing only the black shorts! When the fans saw him and started screaming, he ran back inside. During this moment, there was this Japanese girl who stepped on my shopping bag and accidentally hit me on the neck with her long, yellow umbrella. She didn’t even apologize. (*-_-) A few moments later, a white van arrived (maybe that was why Yoko came out, thinking that the van had already arrived), picked up Yoko and headed who knows where. I think he came back right before the concert started.
4:00 pm
It started to rain. The first show ended. We waited for my Japanese friend to come out. When she came, she told me that Shota did his solo for the first show. Which meant that Ryo would be doing his on the 2nd show. I got so excited hearing that. Before she left, she told us to enjoy the show.
4:30 pm
We started lining up. A white van with black windows came by us. One of the windows was slightly open and through it came out a hand. Whose hand? Don’t ask…
5:00 pm
Got inside. found our seats. Our seats were superb! Right beside me was a door. Right behind us was the aisle. We knew that someone, if not all of them, was going to walk along that aisle.
5:30 pm
The EITO call started. Fans in front turned to face us. At that time I knew that they were going to make an entrance from the door next to me. When the lights went out, fans started screaming their lungs out. And through that door, came Yoko, Shota followed by Hina!!!! They looked good!!! I didn’t know how to react so I just stood there! (remember that this is my first time going to a concert) The rest came out from the door on the opposite side. They were wearing long, red coats and had dark sunglasses on. I don’t know if they saw us under their sunglasses. (we were wearing headscarves so it was kinda impossible not noticing us) They gathered on a small stage at the center of the hall and bathed under the spotlight for a while before heading towards the stage.
The opening song was Zukkoke Otoko Michi. As I have read in other reports, Subaru got Shota under his skirt and the guys said their names while singing.
The next song was Sukiyanen Osaka. It was just a short performance. In the last part, where Ryo was supposed to shout ‘Sukiyanen’, he said ‘まぁ、そこそこ好きやねん’, meaning ‘I kind of like you’. (I’m sorry. I don’t really know the exact translation for this)
For their greetings, they basically said the same thing. ‘楽しんで行こうぜ！’ (lets enjoy). Subaru came out screaming ‘Toyama! Toyama! Lets enjoy!’. Maru said some funny things and made us laugh. They were mostly gags. The last gag he made wasn’t that funny, only a few people laughed. When he noticed this, he laughed to himself, ‘HEHEHEHEHE’. ;p It was funny and cute! Yoko did the laugh too during his greeting. Hina came out gesturing to the fans on his left saying ‘konnichiwa!’, then he did the same to those in the center. He gestured to those on his right and said nothing then faced in front. Those on his right went, ‘EEHHHHHH!!!’. He laughed and turned to them and said ‘konnichiwa’. カッコエエ！！！ ;p
Then they went on to the next song, Explosion. Nothing much happened during this song. Or have I forgotten all about it? If there is something, I will add it on later. ;p
Misetekure came next. It was really hot!!!! We were sitting quite far from the stage but we could feel the heat from the fire!!! Imagine how hot it was on stage!!! Ryo got near to the fire and just stood there for a while. Then he just smiled and went back to the center of the stage.
Then it was Eden. I just love the performance here. There was a moment when Ryo and Subaru got near each other while playing their guitars. Then they smiled at each other and got back to their position.
Next was Ryo’s Stereo. I love this song very much. He looked good under the spotlight. He smiled a lot throughout this song.
Then Hina showed up singing Forward. He’s a really good dancer. Honestly, I don’t like this song that much but I enjoyed his performance nonetheless. In fact, I sang along to it. ;p
The next solo performance was Tacchon’s. The lighting was superb. I was so impressed with how beautiful the stage was that I didn’t really pay attention to the song. But I love this song too. He wrote the word Mamoritai in the air at the end of the song.
Next is the segment I have been waiting for. EITO RANGER!!!! When they started singing their Eito Ranger song, I couldn’t help smiling. ;p Nearing the end of the song, Yellow suddenly started coughing and he continued coughing until the song ended. Nasu pointed out that Yellow had messed up the song. And Yellow just smiled and apologized, ‘ごめんな！’ Without wasting any time Blue told everyone about his love confession. Black then told Yellow to make a love confession. Yellow was smiling and started talking as if the girl he liked was standing next to him. He paused a lot while saying this. I’m going to write this in Japanese first, then I’ll translate it. Mind you, that it may not be his exact words and it’s shorter than what he really said. It went something like this :
‘久しぶりやな。元気やった? 今彼氏いる? あっ、最近別れたん? 俺はな、友達に聞かれたの。お前はどんな女性がタイプなん?って。まぁ、お前に似ている。俺、めっちゃ好きやねん。(or was it ずっと好きやねん)’
‘ It’s been a while huh? How have you been? Do you have a boyfriend now? Ah, you’ve just broken up with him? A friend asked me the kind of girl I like. Maa , someone like you. I like you very much. (or was it ‘I have always liked you’ ?)
During the first show, I heard from my Japanese friend that Yellow’s love confession was the scene from 1 liter no namida. ‘お前が歩くなら、どんなにゆっくりでも、一緒に歩く。。。’ (no matter how slow you walk, I’ll walk with you…) If only I had gone to the first show too!!!!! (T_T)
Then the next person to confess was Nasu. It was funny because Green looked all ready to do it, but instead of calling on him, Black told Nasu to do it. Nasu got to the front of the stage and sat down. As I have said before it might not be his exact words. His confession went something like this :
‘わからへんって! わからへん! 何を言ってるのかわからへんって! 黙ってたら、わからへん! お前ます寿司が好きやろ? (masuzuhi is a famous Toyama delicacy) Nasu then made a gesture like he was opening a fridge. But he closed it like he was closing a sliding door. (Black pointed this out) ‘ほら、食べて。俺はお前とこのます寿司のように、ご飯とこの魚のように、くっつきたい!!!’
‘I’m telling you, I don’t get it! I don’t get it! I don’t get what you’re trying to say. If you don’t speak, I won’t understand. You like masuzushi, don’t you? (masuzuhi is a famous Toyama delicacy) Nasu then made a gesture like he was opening a fridge. But he closed it like he was closing a sliding door. (Black pointed this out) Here, eat it. I want to stick with you like how the rice sticks to the fish!!!’
Everyone laughed hearing this. Blue then said that he was going to get the answer on that day. Black scolded him, saying ‘What the heck are you doing here then? Why are you still here?’ Hearing this, Blue left to meet the girl. Black then proposed that they all go peek at Blue and the girl. Hearing this, Orange twirled his hands and pointed both his index fingers in front and said ‘Switch on!’ (スウィッチオン！) He did this twice followed by Red, Nasu, Black, Yellow and Green. (Though Black, Yellow and Green didn’t look too eager to do it.) Then Nasu said to Green, ‘It would’ve been better if you had said TACCH-ON’. Hearing this, Green did the same gesture and said ‘TACCH-ON!!!’. It was really cute! Then Orange did one of his gags and got Yellow laughing on the floor. Then the spotlight shone on Blue and the girl. During this time the others were sitting down on one side of the stage. Red sat on Orange’s lap. The girl then asked Blue to do the ‘一発芸’ (gag). Blue danced while slightly bouncing himself up and down going ‘Jingly, Jingly, Jingly’. I’m sorry, I don’t know how to explain this…but it was super cute!!! The girl then said that he is small. She then said that she was sorry coz she was in love with someone. Blue then fell on his knees and started crying. The others too started making sad faces. Yellow was lying on the floor and hitting the floor with the flower he had. Then the girl said, the person I like is you. Blue started singing and the boys danced. Then Blue kissed the girl. The kiss lasted a long time (until the song ended). They then threw the flowers to the fans sitting in front. Then everyone parted ways. Black then saw the girl with another guy. Before he left the stage, he did the ‘doron’ thing. ‘ドロン！’
The next morning, Blue told everyone that everything went well. Orange then started doing the ‘Jingly, Jingly, Jingly’ dance followed by Red, Green and Yellow. Surprisingly, Blue joined them. They were really funny and cute!! I don’t know how many times have I said this!!!! Black showed up later telling that he liked Blue. Blue said that he liked Black as a friend. Black then told Blue to leave the girl. Blue got mad and left the stage. Yellow too got mad and punched Black. Black left the stage. Nasu tried to calm Yellow, but Yellow told him to shut up. Next on the line trying to calm Yellow was Orange. He talked with such passion and such an expression that Yellow started laughing and couldn’t look at Orange. When he did, he looked like he was trying to restrain himself from laughing. He then said to Orange, ‘Shut up, idiot!’ and left the stage. Orange followed him. Nasu then turned to Red who kept on looking in front. When Nasu called him, he turned to face Nasu so suddenly that Nasu himself was surprised. Nasu started saying how everyone was going apart, and Red finished his line by saying that ‘If this goes on, there won’t be EITO Ranger anymore’. Whenever Nasu started to say something, Red would finish the sentence. This went on for 3 minutes. Nasu asked Red to go find Blue and calm him, but Red refused. Nasu had to force him to do so. He added, ‘Make sure you find him and talk to him!’. Red then replied, ‘ I can’t guarantee that!’ and left the stage. Nasu turned to Green and Green said ‘wakatta!’ and he too left the stage. Nasu then mentioned how everyone was so fast in getting what he was about to say.
The next scene was the Black-begging-to-the-girl’s-boyfriend scene. Orange then asked the boy to stop punching Black and ended getting punched too. Orange then tried lifting up Black from the floor. Black was in such a pain that he couldn’t stand and accidentally (purposely?) pulled Orange to the floor too. In other words, they both fell to the floor. Black then said that Orange was bleeding. (‘血が出てるよ。’) Orange said that it was nothing. Then Black said, ‘Orange, you have a running nose.’ (‘鼻水が出てるよ。’) Orange didn’t know what to say, so he just sat there for a while then said ‘Really?’ (‘そう?’) This made Black laughed. Orange then called on Yellow who came appearing from behind the curtain on stage. Yellow and Black made up and shook hands. Red then showed Blue what was going on and said how much the others cared for him. Red started singing. He and Blue then started this hentai dance together. They were brushing against each others body. Then they both joined the others. Blue decided to meet the girl and settle things. Yellow pointed out that the girl was nearby and that she was with a disgusting looking guy, his exact words were ‘気持ち悪い’. Black said that the guy was surprisingly good-looking. Before blue went to meet the girl, Black gave him his belt as a protection. He then put it on Blue and told everyone else to do the same thing. Green put his under Blue’s belt which made it difficult for him to walk. Blue had to take small steps. Red put his around Blue’s neck. Blue ended wearing belts up to his chest. He then went to see the girl. He got mad but couldn’t hit the girl. The others came rushing to him. Black then said that Yellow looked as if he had something to say. Yellow took Blue to his side and said that guys weren’t meant to hit girls. ‘お前、女に手を出すために、生きてるのか?’ He also said, ‘Guys don’t have to be physically strong. What’s more important is having strong heart!’ (‘心が強くなければならない！’ ) And they hugged passionately. Green was supposed to say to the girl, ‘Don’t underestimate guys.’ But he couldn’t stop laughing. He covered his face with one hand, then both his hands then finally said it. Blue then told the girl to be happy and the girl said the same thing to him. Nasu then hit the girl on the head. The girl laughed and they ran away from her. Blue then thanked the others. But when he bowed, those belts he had on caused him so much pain that you can see his face going red. The others were just laughing at him. Black then told everyone that they should always help each other when needed. He said, ‘Whenever I have a problem, or maybe Blue, or Red, or Yellow, or Green or even Orange we should helped each other. Nasu never has any problems though.’ (‘ナスは悩み事はないけどな。。。’) Nasu laughed. Then they started singing Arigatou. Oh, I forgot to mention that Red and Orange couldn’t get their hands off each other. They were hugging 80% of the skit.
They started singing and by the time I realized it, there were only Yoko, Shota and Tacchon on stage. Yoko then asked, ‘Where are the others?’ The others appeared on the 2nd floor and through the doors at both ends of the hall.
The next song was Osaka Obachan Rock. During this song, Ryo and Subaru went up to the 2nd floor. We couldn’t see them from the first floor. Then I noticed that the bodyguards around us were getting ready for something. Then, Maru came out from the door next to me saying konnichiwa to those on his left. When he got on the cart, he saw me standing right in front of him. He was kinda surprised at first but then he smiled and said ‘hello’ (ハロー). I was trembling with excitement. No words came out of my mouth. All I did was waved at him. 恋に落ちそうな瞬間だった!!! (I nearly fell in love with him!!!) He looked really good! He had really smooth skin. Smoother than mine!!! ;p Shota came out from the door on the other end of the hall. We thought that he was going to come by to where we were standing. But both his and Maru’s cart stopped right in the middle and they got off and headed to the stage. Sue was really upset that Shota didn’t come. ;p
During MC, Maru talked about how he was strongly pulled by a fan while they were singing Obachan Rock. He nearly fell. And then he said that a fan had molested him. He demonstrated this. While saying ‘さらさら’ he patted his THING. Yoko then got a bit mad and said ‘これ、セクハラだよ!’ (This is sexual harassment!)
And then they talked about who has the best laugh. Yoko pointed out that Tacchon has a great laugh. (I agree, I agree!!!) So, Hina asked Maru to make Tacchon laugh. Maru did a couple of gags and Tacchon laughed. And then Maru did something which wasn’t that funny and Tacchon stopped laughing. Yoko said that Maru is only funny backstage. On stage he is just not that funny. Hearing this, Hina proposed that Maru make one of the fans laugh. If he was able to do this, then it is proven that he is funny. So, Maru got off the stage and looked for someone who looked like she would laugh to his jokes. The other fans went ‘EEEHHHHHH!!!!!’. He found someone sitting in the first row. He stared at this girl and did his gag. The girl didn’t laugh. Probably because she was too nervous. Maru decided to give it another try. He sat next to the girl and made funny faces. The girl just smiled. The others told him to find someone else. So, he got back on stage and started looking for another victim (lucky person?). He found someone with an interesting uchiwa (I couldn’t see what was written). He borrowed the uchiwa and found himself another ‘lab rat’. ;p He hid the uchiwa behind his back and said something, then showed the girl what was written on the uchiwa. No one laughed. All he did after that was laughed to himself, ‘HEHEHEHE’. Then he returned the uchiwa to the owner and thanked her. The others just laughed and said that he failed!
All this while, Ryo and Subaru were sitting on the stairs on the stage and didn’t even say a word. Oh, and Subaru’s new haircut is ok, I guess. It’s not that bad. It’s shoulder-length.
They then moved to another topic. Maru said that he had something to say to Yoko. He wanted Yoko to treat him nicer. Yoko asked why. (‘なんでやねん?!’) Maru said that he deserved to be treated nicely. Yoko tried avoiding Maru and tried to change the subject. Maru got mad and followed Yoko everywhere he went and demanded to be treated nicely. At this point Maru looked really mad. But knowing them, I think they were actually enjoying themselves. Yoko then asked ‘What is it that you want me to do?’. Maru replied, ‘I want you to give me a hug.’ His exact words were, ‘優しく抱いてくれ’. Yoko didn’t want to so he asked Subaru to do it. Subaru said that Maru asked Yoko to do it not him. Maru said the same. Yoko tried to run away from doing it. Again and again he asked Subaru to do it. Subaru then said that Maru won’t be happy if he hugged him. Maru then said that Subaru is always nice to him. Finally, Yoko agreed. They hugged. Yoko tried to release himself from the hug but Maru didn’t let go. Maru hugged him so tightly that Yoko fell down and started screaming. When Maru finally let go of him, he said that Maru had sexually harassed him. Maru just smiled and said thank you.
They then moved on to singing Itsuka mata. Since Ryo didn’t say a word, fans started calling out his name. He put his finger on his lips and asked the fans to be quiet. He did this about 3 times. When the song started, everyone kept quiet. The performance was beautiful. Subaru’s voice was really beautiful. Everyone were playing their respective instrument and looked really good. カッコよかった！！！
After this song, Yoko asked whether anyone had anything to say. No one said anything so he decided to talk about a baseball game he saw on TV that day. The score was 5-4. But I know nothing of baseball and have no interest whatsoever. ;p Later that night we saw on the news about the game. The score was in fact 5-4.
Next was Subaru’s Ruwa. Subaru was amazing! I love his voice. I was absorbed in his song!
During Kanashii Koi, Tacchon ran and got down on his knees to sing his solo part. Ryo did the same. So did Shota and lastly, Maru.
Osaka Rainy Blues came next. When the spotlight was on Subaru, Ryo did this weird dance at the back.
When they sang Futari no namida ame, Maru and Subaru (if I’m not mistaken) did this funny dance together. Hina and Ryo then copied them. Ryo then molested Hina by patting Hina’s crotch twice!
Instead of singing ‘midousuji kara’, Ryo sang ‘koko toyama kara’ during Osaka Romanesque.
Ryo’s voice got hoarse by now. It was his sing-with-Ryo segment. He apologized and said to the fans that he couldn’t really sing so he was just going to let the fans sing most of the time. When he said this, he purposely made his voice hoarser to gain sympathy (?). ;p He played his guitar and we sang 90% of the song. He sang a bit but he had to stop because he was coughing.
Tacchon appeared with his drum solo which was really, really cool!!! And Maru showed up too. And then Shota. They were awesome!!!!
Everyone came out singing Do You Agree?. Everyone was jumping up and down throughout this song. Ryo was seen to talk to a few fans in front. Then he got this hose from a staff backstage. He pointed this hose to a fan in front of him. And out came smoke from it. He just pointed it to the fan that she had to cover her face with the uchiwa she had. He then directed it to other fans in front. They were bathing smoke!!! ;p It looked as if a fan complained that her clothes got stained from the smoke. Then, Ryo tried it himself. He aimed the hose at his shoe and I guess the fan was right coz Ryo then tried to wipe his shoe a couple of times. ;p
Next song was Go Joni Go! I was so tired by the time that I couldn’t jump. I had a couple of buns and a cup of pudding only since morning and it was now nearing 7:30 pm.
The last song was Sayounara wa itsumo. I love this song. It’s a good sayounara song. They said their goodbyes and left.
The EITO call started. They came out with their autographed boards and sang Mugendai. We were hoping that they would throw the boards to us because they looked in our direction a couple of times. But unfortunately, we caught none.
Again the Eito call started. This time they came out singing Zukkoke Otoko Michi. Ryo had a towel on his head and he had this black adhesive tape on one of his eyebrows. He took it off and pulled his shirt up a bit to reveal his stomach and started to stick the tape on it. He did this halfway through the song. During this song, Yoko started shouting ‘Pi, pi’ and asked us to do it too. Then Subaru told us to jump and say ‘Pi, pi’ simultaneously. (‘飛びながら、ピー、ピー!’) They even said their goodbyes this way especially Shota. (飛びながら、bye, bye!’)
We called on them for the third time. They finally came out with Subaru and Hina topless. Subaru had changed into jeans this time. Ryo and Tacchon had completely changed into their personal clothing. Ryo had on a black hat, black t-shirt, red belts, brown pants and had sunglasses on. Tacchon had on gray t-shirt, gray pants and white (if I’m not mistaken. Too busy concentrating on Ryo) cap. They looked hot!!!! Ryo took out 1000yen from his pockets and asked the fan in front of him if she wanted it. When she tried to take it, Ryo took it back and laughed. He put it back in his pocket. They then told us to go home safely. Maru threw his towel to the fans. Yoko was the last one to leave the stage. He left saying ‘Bye, bye monkey!’. He said this in English. (Again, if I’m not mistaken. That’s what I heard.) He repeated this for about 3 times.
