Well, lots of stuff happening.
Pratchett's b-day was the 28th, always fun times there. Celebrated by reading through Men at Arms, always fun.
Missed a class because Mom's hysterical about Dad's emergency surgery. While she was driving in Ohio with my aunt and cousin, only him and my brother were at home. Dad's vein in his arm where they stuck the tube for his kidney dialysis fucked up or something and he woke up in a pool of his own blood. Him and Pete stopped the bleeding but Pete still called 911, so now our house is no longer officially the only one on our 20-house block not to have the police show up at one time or another.
They kept him in the hospital overnight and he lost the tube, so I'll call up to see how he's doing later. Talked to him a little bit and he sounded completely out of it because of the drugs and whatnot, but he's doing all right. He's got a whole host of other health problems besides the massive blood clot issue and the failing kidneys: turns out the reason it took so long getting him into surgery was that the anesthesiologist was nervous about putting him under because of his sleep apnea and didn't want him waking up in a nightmare of pain. But it was okay and didn't happen.
My next-door neighbor of 17 years passed away the other day from cancer. She'd been sick for about three years. Couldn't make it to the wake, but Mom and Pete went.
Peter broke up with Alyssa after she called him an asshole and he lost it. But at least it saves him the trouble of trying to stop her from transferring colleges to be with him at RPI next year. Seriously, she'd lose her 17,000 scholarship, she needs to stay at RIT. She's a smart girl. I don't really know how Pete's handling it, supposedly he's doing fine but it's hard to tell with him sometimes.
Finals going good so far, all things considered. Fucked up and missed a group presentation last week but it wasn't near the heart attack I thought it was going to be and I made it up in record time. It helps that Dr. Finkelstein is seriously a considerate guy.
And I'm headed home in about two weeks.
Can't wait.
(At least Snape isn't pregnant?)
