Her husband, Don, 58, was not so sure. Giuliani's family situation gave Romney a slight edge in his mind. "Giuliani has been through several wives," he said. "His leadership ability is proven a little bit more, but family issues . . . that's a negative for him."

oh no. can't elect someone who has *family issues*. that's so much more important for a president than, you know, something like *leadership*. how silly of someone to consider qualities that are good for the job rather than something irrelevant. (side note: I don't even know which party I'm supporting at this point, much less which candidate.)

Dobson has said he wouldn't support Giuliani, calling the former New York mayor an "unapologetic supporter of abortion on demand." Dobson has also rejected former senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee as wrong on social issues, and wouldn't back John McCain because of the Arizona senator's opposition to a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.

while I would be supportive of a successful third party emerging, even a far-right-Christian-extremist third party, because of other implications it would have for the electoral system, the attitudes of these types really bothers me. "oh no, there isn't a candidate who agrees with everything exactly as we do, so we can't support any of them." other people, you know, weigh candidates based on their pros and cons, and pick the best one out of the (admittedly, usually bad) choices given (ideally). but this isn't good enough for them; they have to hand-pick their own candidate because all the other candidates disagree with them on one (different) issue, out of many.

The Boy Scouts of America said Thursday that a common badge worn by some of its youngest Scouts is being voluntarily recalled after a test revealed dangerous levels of lead.

I don't understand, do the Chinese just have giant piles of lead sitting around in all their factories? or is it just cheaper to make string out of lead, instead of, you know, string? *sarcasm, mostly* seriously, why does this kind of stuff keep happening?
