Past few days.

On Friday night, fings and I had many rum and cokes, and sang (possibly way too much) on his newish karaoke playstation game. Good times. I kicked ass on "Killing Me Softly" and "Against All Odds", impressed with how well I did on "Unchained Melody'--come on, that's a hard song to sing! Failed utterly on "Don't You Forget About Me" and "You're the One That I Want" from Grease (I hit Sandy and Danny's parts dead-on but totally screwed up on the chorus, damn!). fings did well, but he was frustrated at the lack of songs suitable for his deep range.

Saturday morning, I woke up about 4am and could not fall asleep until 7am. It sucked!! Tossed and turned, then tossed and turned some more. I did finish reading my book, and started my current one, but it would have been preferable to sleep, that's for sure. Oh, well.
We finally finished watching season 1 of "Battlestar Galactica" on dvd, excellent, excellent show. Looking very much forward to the next dvd release in December. We were planning on going to Manhattan to see if there would be any cancellations for a dance that had gotten rave reviews, and if we couldn't get tickets we'd head over and watch "Everything is Illuminated" with Elijah Wood instead. Well, fings did a little more research and figured, 1) I'd find some of the show's content questionable (if not particularly wanting to see some random guy actually masturbating onstage makes me a prude, then I'm a prude, I'M A PRUDE!!) and 2) it had gotten good reviews in the NY Times, so the chances of actually scoring tickets were going to be most likely zero. So, we decided to go see the movie, but first I'd take a nap. Bad move. It took him like 3 tries to get me up, and I ended up spending at least 45 minutes (if not more, my memory is a bit fuzzy) longer in bed than I should have. I felt utterly, utterly exhausted. When I finally scraped myself out of bed, it was decided that we would indeed not be able to make the movie (ooops), so we went out to Maxwell's for dinner (yummy, yummy guacamole and chips & chicken pot pie ). Even though the evening was on the lightly drizzly side, I suggested a walk after dinner. We figured we'd stroll over to the used book store, too bad it was closed by the time we got there ('nother oops). So to Blockbuster it was! By the time we had "Lemony Snickets A Series of Unfortunate Events" and 2 bags of Twizzlers (hey, it was on sale!) in hand, it was effing POURING. When we were back at the apartment, dried off and hiding under a blanket with Twizzlers and watching a decent movie a big part of me was rather pleased that we hadn't ventured into Manhattan after all, we had gotten pretty soaked just walking 15 minutes or so across Hoboken. Though I wish for fings' sake he had found out about that dance earlier so he could have gotten tickets, he really wanted to go.

Slept in late on Sunday and then we went to see the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" at Stevens Institute of Technology's Debaun Hall. Very good! We're talking a musical performance of the show, not just people acting out the movie underneath a screen. Great set, and the singers were all very impressive. Frank was dead-on fabulous! It was so much better than what I was expecting, very pleased.

Today, I've been sick and feeling like poopy. Spent a fair part of the day reading in bed and dozing off/napping. Feeling much better now, but tired. Stupid cold, stupid headache. I should be ok enough tomorrow to get back in the swing of things.

It took me way longer than it should have to write this entry and edit it. My brain is a bit on the slow and bumfuzzled side. Need sleep.

feel like crap, bad weather, good stuff, weekend update, my sweetie
