So, our weekend consisted of more bumming around and less cleaning that I had hoped for. At least we got into Manhattan on Saturday night, the way we had planned. We came dangerously close to being totally lame and staying home. We went to the Strand, Kim's Video, had dinner and later some snacks (btw, avoid the Quizno's across the street from the Strand, that was the shittiest Quizno's ever! the meat in our cheese steaks was subpar & gristly, bleah. the customer service was LAME. I mean seriously,
fings asked for potato soup and they gave him broccoli cheddar, he went back to get the correct soup, and this time a different dude gave him chicken soup. um, ok. at least it was something he liked. but man!). It was a lovely cool evening and we once again berated ourselves for being bums who don't go wandering in NYC more often.
Fings suggested that he take a week off sometime in October so we can be "tourists" and I think I like that idea. The World Trade Center is gone, but we can still go to the top of the Empire State Building or Rockefeller Plaza. We can see about getting discount Broadway tickets. I'd like to see "Wicked" while it's still possible. Oh, we can do a day wandering in Central Park. I'd like to go to the Guggenheim and the Frick Museums. Still haven't been to the MOMA since they reopened and charge $20 entry, but I've been meaning to. I like this idea more and more.
