The school board is full of a bunch of crooks. At least the Pulaski district is. We were told that the requirements to graduate in Little Rock were the same as Pulaski. To graduate I needed to have a semester of 11th English, a semester of 12th english, a semester of computer applications, a P.E. class, a semester of geometry, and a speech class.

It sucks even worse in college, where one college might randomly decide to ignore your transfer credits, or spontaneously alter the terms of your graduation... like they did for me, causing me to have to attend a summer course to get the last few credits I needed, while ignoring the 12 extra hours of credits I already had. The whole concept is a scam, a crock -- you pay your money, you show up to classes, and you put forth a minimum of effort, and you'll get a bachelor's degree.
My uninformed opinion is that if you're determined to go to UNA, you'd be better off getting your GED, and going straight to college. In my experience, no one EVER EVER EVER cares if/where you went to high school. They only VAGUELY care about college. Mostly the fact that you went and graduated, no matter what it is you graduated IN.
I personally wouldn't live in the UNA dorms, because when I was there in 96 the dorms were more like gulags. The married off-campus housing (by the police station) is nice, and of course, there's always Courtview Towers, which must be held up entirely by rat droppings and the prayers of the elderly by now. ;)

I'm really not set on going to UNA. It's just sort of there, and I know people around there... It's familiar, that's the word. That's pretty much the only reason I'm going. I'm thinking about moving somewhere else though, possibly to Nashville or Auburn? I have no idea. I'm so unprepared.
Thank goodness I won't have to deal with dorms, thanks to my awesome pappy who is willing to pay for an apartment as long as I stay in college full time! woo!
But yeah.. I will probably end up just getting my GED. people seem to have mixed feelings on it, and others are dead set that it is either the dumbest thing you could do, or that it's better than nothing, or that it is just as good as a diploma. Who knows. :(((((((

It's just under 200 bucks a month with two people. And unlike a dorm, you have a room to hide in if you can't stand your roommate. ;)
