Went to the County today with some paperwork, hoping to work for my food stamps and General Assist. Results were less than hoped, but could have been worse.
Firstly, I have been denied General Assist because I have a retirement fund through the State of California of over $2000. The difficulty with this is that I have been trying to access this property for two months now and have been unable to do so. I will have to be more aggressive in this endeavor.
For the Food Stamps I still need to provide proof that I have applied for Unemployment and a stub from my last SCOE paycheck. I am online right now (between typing) looking for the first bit of information, and I will be calling SCOE later on this morning to see if I can't get a copy of my last pay stub, as I seem to have misplaced the original.
Once I have the paperwork squared away I will be choosing one day a week (probably Monday) to work for my food stamps.

EDIT: Looks like getting the retirement cashed out is supposedly as easy as printing out a form, filling it out, and mailing it in. I've mailed this form in before, so hopefully it will stick this time. Objective 1 complete.
EDIT2: Contacted California Unemployment. I have reopened my claim and will be receiving proof of that within the next 10 days. Objective 2 complete.
