Though shocked by the discovery that Naoto-kun was in fact Naoto-chan (wait what?) the focus quickly went to fighting his... her... its? shadow. Astro Boy? Really? Souji got hit by a well placed ziodyne with an incompatible persona and... a piece of paper flew out of his pocket and into Yukiko's hand.
"Huh? What's this?" she asked after quickly casting a mediarama. "Things to do today..."
"Ooooh senpai! I didn't know you were this organized!" Rise giggled.
"Uh, battle guys? We can read Souji's grocery list later," Yousuke pointed out as he quickly dodged a garudyne skill, stupid resistance null.
"Oh, yeah Yousuke-kun you're right." Yukiko braced herself when a word caught her eye. "Hey! Naoto-kun's name is on here!"
Kanji froze. "Wait, what? Gimme that list!"
"Nu uh, Yukiko hold onto that. I'll read it to everyone!" Rise was obviously not focusing on the battle at all. "Um, let's see... Buy eggs, Rescue Naoto..."
Kanji visibly sighed in relief.
"Talk her through her gender issues. Start reading more puzzle books. Email family in LA… Order Astro Boy..."
"Wait what?! Seriously partner? Her gender issues? Did you know the whole time?"
Souji turned away from internal battle strategies to protect the party. "Well, it's obvious. I know that she's a first year, but her voice isn't even cracking. And sometimes she rubs her sides like her bra is on too tight."
"Uh, and you didn't think that it was creepy at all to notice these sorts of details?" Yousuke tried to point out.
"Well, it's hard not to. Things like you raise the volume on your mp3 player when you think about Konishi-senpai, or that Rise adjusts her pigtails when she's about to say that her abilities didn't help her find someone. Or how Yukiko rubs the buttons on her sweater right before she's about to ask someone's opinion on something, usually related to her future."
The IT just stared.
"There're more subtle points too such as Kou's left ear twitches when the topic of his family comes up. Kanji's shoulders tremble slightly when he sees something cute. And well, you get the idea."
Yukiko started to rub a button on her sweater before catching herself. "Um, Souji-san? When did you start noticing these types of things?"
"Oh, probably when I was six or seven and my cousin Trucy Wright spent the summer with my family. She's from my father's side of the family of course."
