To all my friends who are married and to those who are contemplating marriage. Keep contemplating, never give up hope. For those who are already married, please be guided by these statements. It's amazing how much God rewards us so much for acts of kindness and gentleness and intimacy which some couples take for granted.
Quotes on marriage from sayings and actions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) are available in almost all Hadith books under the title of Nikah. The related angles of Muslim marriage like Family life, relationship of husband and wife and rights of wife and husband are not ignored even. You can find Hadiths on marriage as well as on family life on Muslim marriage site.
some hadith are the following:
1. “Do not marry only for a person's looks, for their beauty might become a cause of moral decline. Do not marry for the sake of wealth, as this may become a source of sin. Marry rather on the grounds of religious devotion.”
2. Among my followers the best of men are those who are best to their wives, and the best of women are those who are best to their husbands. To each of such women is set down a reward equivalent to the reward of a thousand martyrs. Among my followers, again, the best of women are those who assist their husbands in their work, and love them dearly for everything, save what is transgression of Allah's laws.'
3. Love for women is one of the things through which God favoured His Messenger (s); for He made him love them in spite of the fact that he had few children. Hence the desired goal was nothing but the marriage act itself, like the marriage act of the people of the Garden, which is strictly for pleasure and not for producing offspring
4. When a Muslim man intends to come to his wife, God writes for him 20 good deeds and erases from him 20 evil deeds. When he takes her by the hand, God writes for him 40 good deeds and erases from him 40 evil deeds. When he kisses her, God writes for him 60 good deeds and erases from him 60 evil deeds. When he comes into her, God writes for him 120 good deeds. When he stands up to make the ablution, God boasts of him to the angels and says: "Look at My servant! He stands up on a cold night to wash himself of impurity (janaba) seeking the good pleasure of his Lord. I bear witness to you that I have forgiven him his sins
“Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as having said: A woman without a husband (a divorced or a widow) must not be married until she is consulted, and a virgin must not be married until her permission is sought. They asked the Prophet of Allah (may peace be upon him): How her (virgin's) consent can be solicited (when she does not speak of modesty)? He (the Holy Prophet) said: That she keeps silence.”
