Taken on October 29, 2008. A truly memorable day for my family because this will mark the ONLY happy moments we had of this fateful day because when evening came, my dear Auntie Elsie passed away.
Here is Sofia's United Nations Day Parade and celebration. She represents Indonesia. I did her makeup as soon as I got up in the morning. This whole gig started at 8am. She was already knocking the door to get made up at SIX! LOL. At least I got to use the mineral eyeshadow thingees Duston gave me and applied it on her. I KNOW she looks WAY too made up here but after researching on traditional Indonesian costumes, I noticed that the Balinese girls looked like this on their wedding day.
I just really love how the kids here look so cute and funny especially the kindergarten class. The parents really did a cool job fussing over the costumes and makeup of the kiddies.
The whole event was fun if only to see the kids in their costumes. But I couldn't help rolling my eyes in frustration over the organizers of this event. The teachers did a CLASSIC FAIL JOB in this whole affair. making the kids dance to stupid novelty sexy dance tunes where they end up just jumping all over the place. Also notice the pathetic "balloon decor" here. There wasn't even a makeshift globe and no one sang "It's A Small World". Ugh!
