Snagged this one from D's f-list. It's amusing that my writing style was classified as "intellectual" based on my recent public entry. My recent public entry had been about Paris Hilton. LOL!
So, YOJICHAN, your LiveJournal reveals...
You are... 0% unique and 49% herdlike (partly because you, like everyone else, enjoy writing). When it comes to friends you are normal. In terms of the way you relate to people, you are wary of trusting strangers. Your writing style (based on a recent public entry) is intellectual.
Your overall weirdness is: 18
(The average level of weirdness is: 27.
You are weirder than 39% of other LJers.)
Find out what your weirdness level is! I was in a book shop yesterday called "Books for Less" in the Ortigas Complex along Tycoon Road. I'm getting fond of that place because I was able to get some interesting readable stuff there at very affordable prices. It's like Booksale minus the crampy space, mess and people. It feels like one of those small public libraries I've been to in the past. Now I don't know about you but I believe that being in a bookstore isn't as noisy as a supermarket. People go to bookstores to browse, read, purchase, etc.
Well I've had the (dis)pleasure to be in the store with a seemingly neurotic Momma and her kid. Talk about fussy! You'd think that her kid has deep seated psychological issues that she would fuss at him so much. When I took a peak to see what the ruckus was all about, he was just an alert little nice boy and being just your regular average 3-year-old (at least that's how he looks like). I fail to see what the fuss is all about...SERIOUSLY. So I timed the intervals where she would fuss at him again...and you know what..it only took TWO SECONDS before she began to fuss again. It was CRAZY, man! I am not going to give out the kid's real name so let's just call him KUYA.
"Kuya! Don't lean on the books or they will fall." (Seriously, guys..how much weight can a little boy make to topple down a shelf of books?)
"Kuya! Come here, let's read this!" (Proceeds to read a book so loud I could hear her at the very end corner of the book shop.
"Kuya! Here look at this...do you like it?"
"Kuya! Remember I told you to behave. BEHAVE!"
"Kuya! Come here let me wipe your face." (How much dirt and grime can a kid get inside an air~conditioned book shop?)
"Kuya! Don't go there! Wait for Daddy."
"KUYA!"
Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
You know what...there is thin line between discipline, neurosis and just plain showing off. That woman was doing all three in TWO-SECOND intervals. I kids you not. I am not exaggerating. I timed her. I didn't bother to look anymore if they even bought books from the shop or were they just "hanging out" there. Look I'm not saying, they're evil people. I'm sure she meant well and all but REALLY...she needs to relax and let the kid be a kid. He's a young boy. He will run around in a shop. Kids that age have very short attention span. You'll get hoarse trying to "police" his actions every TWO SECONDS! Come on! Take it easy please. Her voice was the MOST dominant in the entire book shop. I could barely hear the kid talk actually. I don't even understand why she would fuss so much when they have the kid's caretaker along with them already. sheesh!
Anyhoo...I really like the books I got. Yes! Another autobiography book. I've been reading autobiographies recently and I tell you, they're really VERY inspiring and contemplative. I just finished reading Nichelle Nichols' "Beyond Uhura" and this time I will begin reading America's Favorite Golden Girl Estelle Getty's "If I Knew Then What I Know Now...So What?" I am super excited! I also got Top Ten Lists from "Late Night with David Letterman". woot! I love watching the show and Top Ten is always my favorite segment.
D got Patrick Mc Manus' "Never sniff a gift fish", Micheal Crichton's "Eaters of the Dead" and Walter Dean Myers' "Malcolm X By Any Means Necessary".
Autobiography books I finished reading are as follows:
"A Lotus Grows in the Mud" ~ Goldie Hawn
"Just One More Thing" ~ Peter Falk
"Beyond Uhura" ~ Nichelle Nichols
I find their lives fascinating and quite relative to what I am experiencing these days. They talk about love, devotion, inner strength, confidence, enjoying what you do, family, friends, turning points, realizations, beauty, fears, loss, incredible talent, wit and amazing intelligence. I love these books! I highly recommend them to those who may have not read them yet. Get a copy. They're definitely keepers!
Happy reading, kitties!
