Through the Revolving Door

One more day at Caterpillar, and it'll all end the way it began: in the conference room of a hotel, filling out HR paper work.  My belongings back in boxes, except for bedding and my basil plants.  I'm actually sad about leaving.  I've really loved the people I work with, and I've enjoyed everything I've gotten to do.  I may come back for a second internship, though grad school beckons me from full-time.  My supervisor was a remarkable individual: a western Canadian with a background in theoretical mechanics doing ultrasonic inspection, and now the group is venturing into sensors.  Very, very funny, and hyperactive, but absolutely brilliant.  I felt much more at home in a group full of doctorates than I think I would have been elsewhere in CAT.  It was also interesting to work with a wider age spectrum than ever happens during your education.  Basically, I got lucky.  It's been a wonderful experience, but I do look forward to seeing everyone again.

Also, I get to go to the land of no humidity!  Hooray!
