Need your help...

I need your help, flist, to do evil.

Basically, last year for xmas my grandmother gave me a box of tissues.

It took me a full 5-10 minutes to figure out that she had actually opened the side of the tissue box, removed the tissues, carefully folded a sweater and stuffed it in the box. The only clue was a teeny tiny bit of tape that I only saw ( Read more... )

hilarious things I've contemplated doing... fightingentropy December 16 2008, 10:39:05 UTC
1) Put small gifts and gift cards inside some toilet paper and paper towel rolls. With a few bigger tube shaped boxes if it won't fit in one. Do a TON of empty ones too and wrapper them all in tissue paper twisted at the end to look like candy. Put them in a huge clear garbage bag so it's like getting a giant bag of candy. You have to go through and open each one of them to find the present. And you can put weird fake/fun things in some of the others-lottery tickets, actual candy etc.

2)Put it inside a stuffed animal and then sew up the animal (either with semi-obvious thread or, put something else heavy inside too so she realizes it eventually).

3) Use a new paint can, no paint in it. Can get them from from Home Depot etc. for cheap. You can paper the outside of the can or not. Fun to give because you have to get a screwdriver to open the lid.

4)Might be hard- make a snap apart (or if you feel mean something you have to cut open) ship in a bottle thing somehow (make in two pieces then glue together?). So she takes the wrapping paper off the bottle and can see her present inside but can't get to it easily.

5) Similarly to #4 assemble a gingerbread house around it so that you can see it through a window (or not), then wrap the completed house.

6)Open a can of something light (hot cocoa?) and hide it about halfway down (in a plastic bag). Then suggest (or better, have someone else) that she let everyone try some of her hot cocoa mix for a snack.

7) Get an old hardcover book that's really big (aids thrift?) and do that whole cut a hole in the middle to hide stuff in thing. Even better if you give her a big stack of books that seem like things she might like and the book with the hidden present if part of the stack. The presentation is really important on this one-be all "well I don't have much money this year but I found these at a used book place..." *hopeful she likes it face*

8)Only works once, but great. Even better if you think she might have an idea what kind of thing you got her (ie fragile decorative thing). In a big box along with the present put a smaller box with enough broken glass/pottery to make a good amount of noise. This works best with someone who shakes packages but you can also make sure it sounds broken when you hand it to her. Make sure to display appropriate looks of horror at the sound of broken glass.

9) You could wrap it to look like an ornament (you can get clear plastic balls that snap together-if spray painted could look normal-ish) and hang it on the tree. Then somehow either lead her to it (wrap a really tiny box with a note in it?) or have someone "discover" it and give it to her.

p.s. I'm totally doing number 8 to my brother with something that sounds like broken pieces of plastic-he's notorious for shaking presents.

That is pretty awesome. Wish I was going to be there to see it! ^_^

Hmmm, we're looking into the feasibility of the gingerbread house now. Bwahahah!
