To my cat, a perfect day is sleeping in the same room that I happen to be in.
It’s a cliche, to say it but sometimes animals do know what is best.
Too often our happiness and contentment relies on riches, fame, and other temporary, transitory things. My cat wouldn’t know what to do with a pile of gold, and dogs don’t care about rumour mills or hearsay.
If there’s an animal in your life who deserves a small thank-you for reminding you of what is really good and noble in life, go and do that. Maybe sit with them for just thirty seconds. To them, that will the best thirty seconds of their day-and maybe despite the lack of money, adoring crowds or lackeys falling at your feet, it could be the best thirty seconds of your day, too?
Thought for the day: animals are holy.
total credit, also: this train of thought kicked off by my lovely girlfriend and one of her earlier journal posts.
