A couple months ago, me and Mike decided to get new computer speakers. We got some Logitech 4.1 system from Best Buy, not really great but whatever. Less than a month later, one of the channels in the subwoofer blows so we take it back and exchange it for a different model. Maybe a month and a half later, both rear channels blow. So okay, we decided Logitech speakers just suck ass and exchange it for some Altec-Lansings. We had them maybe... a week? Two? And the right channel goes and blows out. I was listening to the Dresden Dolls at a moderate volume. It's not like I was listening to anything extreme at top volume or anything. We even tried hooking it up to a UPS, just in case it was power surges killing the other ones. The only possible explanation I can think of is maybe the soundcard is acting funny? Can a soundcard fuck up speakers? (But it had no problem with the $50 POS set I got at Gamestop more than a year ago.) I tried googling and all I could find was people talking about underpowered amps. Wouldn't the amp part be built into the speaker system, and therefore be the right power?
So anyway, I'm kinda pissed.
