Yoga journey 6

Where I do my practice has an impact on how I do my practice. I had been doing my yoga in Burlington in my bedroom, and really there was not a lot of room to accommodate all the poses, nor did it provide me with the surroundings helpful in clearing my mind. However doing yoga in my bedroom was better than not doing yoga at all. I found my practice had plateaued however. Part of the problem was that I very limited feedback on how I was doing the poses, how I was breathing and ultimately how I was focusing.
I decided I would have the basement finished and put in a yoga / exercise room. It meant I had to first clear the basement of all the accumulated stuff that did not have a home upstairs. Having learned that the best way for me to tackle a project is one step at a time I started clearing up at about 1 or 2 bags worth per weekend. It took a while, and I gave  stuff to Salvation Army and to Habitat for Humanity and the Diabetes Association. A more enterprising person would have had a garage sale. At the time, I was making a pretty good salary, even if there was no overtime paid for my additional work, so I felt that I was helping others by donating still usable items for resale by these  charities.
