Looking out the window yesterday morning and YES there was snow :D
I'm not active in winter-sports and I like all kinds of weather, but first snow is special ;) It already started to melt again (esp on the south-side of the house) when I took the pics, but it was still enough that I had the clean 5 cm (2 inches)from the car XD
"Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain","Die fabelhafte Welt der Amélie","The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain"...the last time I watched this movie was in 2001 and I forgot so many details over the years, but watching it again yesterday showed, that yes I still love it and it's one of my favs ;)
This movie is magical in its own quirky "feel-good-fairytail-simply-life"-way, makes me teary and melancholic, but leaves me with a smile ^^.
I definitely need subtitles (all the french I still can from school is like 5 words and counting to 20 XD), but I love listening to the french language. The soundtrack from Yann Tiersen is beautiful and adds to the cinematography, atmosphere and endearing storytelling. Amélie is a female character I really like (and I don't say that too often), I can relate to parts of her and admire her positive strength. On the critic that it shows a too idealized french society I only have to say: oh really? I would never have guessed ;P
It's no social critical movie; it's about the little things in life, childhood, longing and so many things you think about, remember, wish for, have experienced yourself or miss in your life, just a fairy-tail about appreciating life...I think some who watched the movie know what I mean ;)
