Lewis Holtby interview NT
So the DFB gave us some short interviews with the new kids :D and I thought I share, but it's just my usual rough translation *cough* ;P

R:You heard about you're call up at the cinema?
L:Yes. We were at the cinema,my handy was on "soundless"/"silent" ,when I looked at it there was an anonymous and another number.Later on I got a sms and got goosebumps right away. The next morning I had the talk and I was really happy.
R:which movie?
L: a bit OT/not appropriate right now, we watched Jackass 3D, we wanted to distract ourselves,it's funny but sometimes disgusting.
R: you, like the other young players had a great year, being at the top -even if Mainz has a little slump now- call up for the NT, do you want to pinch yourself sometimes?
L:It's great, it's crazy, but you should never make a "dot" only a "comma", it always goes on, you want to evolve and be together with "the big ones/boys", you want to fulfill you're dream.The pinching is the right topic, but it always goes on. I try to take it all in, the atmosphere, try to give my best,to present myself, to represent the country as best as possible, that's my goal.
R:You had no problem being part of the U-21. Now here you meet people like Basti who are on their way to being "superstars", so is this something special coming here?
L:Definitely, you can feel the strength of such people, the aura, the quality they also have off the pitch. They give you a good feeling, you already can feel it in the first training ,the freshness, you're proud to take part, but that shouldn't be all. You have to give everything, show why it was the right decision to nominate you, even if it's not going great with the club you can push yourself here, I enjoy every minute.
R:flat passes, fast that's the footy-style the coach prefers, so it should benefit you.
L: Yes, I think that's modern footy, a philosophy we young players can be part of and evolve, we try to follow the requirement/direction, to take everything in. Like I said still so many things to learn, esp. we young players can take in and process many things, it's a great course you could say.It all will us push forward.
R: after 2010 what more can you wish for 2011?
L:That it will be better, like I said there aren't "dots" only "commas" for me. It should go on, I don't want to be satisfied with 2 goals and 7 assists or the 3. place, even if we are "only" Mainz. I want to try to win every game, to look good vs every opponent vs every best player. To win everything with the team I'm part of, you have to keep this mentality, no matter you're age or you're club. I think that's important and a base for success.
