Did you write a list to Santa when you were little? Do you write a Christmas present wish list now? Yes. No.
What are the top 10 things on your list this year? Plane tickets and time off to go back to Wisconsin/Illinois and visit friends and family. Some new socks. An Eco yoga mat.
What are the three (or 1, 2, 4, 5) best presents you ever received as a child and why? I really loved my Barbie one year. Looking back, I always really liked the Christmas Eve presents of "something you could sleep with", which Katie & I took to mean a stuffed animal, and my parents flipped into pajamas some years.
What are the top 5 movies you think everyone should see and why? "Life is Beautiful" -- a hard but really nice movie. "Anchorman" -- because it's just funny, and very quotable. "Annie" -- the original from the 80s because it was so much of my childhood and makes me think of Oma. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" -- because it hits the meaning of Love on the head. "Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark" -- because that movie just kicks ass.
Which comes first, success or happiness? Or, to think of it a different way, does happiness follow success or are you only successful when you acheive happiness? Are they even necessarily related? No, I don't think they're necessarily related. I can think of times in my life where I've been happy and completely out of it, success-wise. I can also think of times where by all exterior appearances, I was successful with what I was doing, and desperately unhappy. I think that ideally, they will go together -- that happiness facilitates success, and that success feeds happiness -- but it doesn't always happen that way.
