(All you UWL psych nerds out there, which could very well just be
psychnerd , imagine the subject line said by the little boy from the Philip Zimbardo videos who dropped his pancake. "PAN-Cake! Coffee-POT!")
My coffee pot is dying. It was a gift from the In-laws approximately 4 years ago, so it's gotten good use and all, but I am asking Husband to get me a new one for my birthday next month. One morning, it turned itself off way before the 2-hour safety... this was a Saturday AM where I go back & forth to the pot and I was sad to find my coffee cold. Then, a week or so later, I filled it with water and plugged it in to make my morning brew... the coffee basket was still open and I was grinding the beans, when I look over and what do you know, the dang thing has turned itself on by itself and water is spraying out of the thing. Argh. This is now a regular occurrence -- I tend to leave it unplugged to cut down on "vampire energy" during the day -- and as soon as I plug it in, the water starts to heat. Now last weekend, I tried to turn it off by pushing the button on the front, and it wouldn't turn OFF. So that's it... completely unreliable. Some mornings, it does the hot-water thing on its own, but then doesn't actually full turn on when I push the button to start the brewing. Unreliable coffee does not a happy
yogaswirl make.
Otherwise, today was fairly unremarkable. I worked, went shopping for necessities & Husband's birthday present after work (and was successful!), then came home and warmed up leftovers and had a beer. Now it's 10:00 and I am so ready for bed. Goodnight!
