Crabby conversions

OK, I admit it.  I started out in a crabby let's-hole-up mood today, partially because I'm still not feeling 100% with my goofy sinuses, and now my ear which started aching mid-day (yes, Mom, I'll go to Urgent Care for drugs if it's still sore in the AM...)  I did a few things around the house, read and took care of some plant thingies, failed at making pancakes for breakfast (I couldn't get the burner just right, so they either scorched or were undercooked. Eh.), changed the cat's litterbox, paid bills, etc.  Husband then started talking about how he wanted to go driving as it was a sunny nice day out -- to which I said, Yes, you go driving.  I often feel so tired out and annoyed with gas prices + traffic + bad California driving that on the weekends, I have no intent to drive anywhere.  But he insisted that I needed to come with him and that he wanted to go drive over to Lake Matthews (yes, a lake?  I had to see this.)... so with me being a crab, off we went down to the southern parts of Riverside, in and out of canyons and around mountains.  We got to Lake Matthews, and then decided we were hungry -- and practically in Corona, if my geography & internal GPS served me right.  Turns out, that intuition was right, so we headed further west on Cajalco Road and had late lunch at On The Border (review at
mexicanmission).  Then we felt movie-ish and went to see a matinee of "No Country For Old Men" to see what those crazy Coen brothers are up to these days... not a cheery feel-good movie, but good.

The thing of it is, (and I apologized to Husband for this), that even though I didn't actually even want to do anything/go anywhere, I had fun and was glad that we had gotten out of the house to do something.  Granted, Husband's driving drove me up a wall at bit, but hey, I can't have it all, right?!

Now we are back home... I am off to update the Mexican journal, then read a bit before I crash early.  I'm definitely not the energetic woman I'd like to be today... will spend more time recuperating/resting tomorrow.

day to day, riverside, being annoying
