All sorts of loose ends

Late Advent entries (and yes, I enjoyed them all today!):
  • 12/22: White Chocolate
  • 12/23: Dark Chocolate
  • 12/24: Extra Dark
I enjoyed having a lazy day today -- catching up on the things that you have to do post-vacation (unpack, buy groceries, catch up on emails, clean the catbox, etc.) and also not doing anything else (laundry can wait).  Lina is very happy that we're home -- almost obnoxiously so at times, wanting constant attention (mostly last night while I was trying to sleep), which is still kind of nice to be needed.  Although I'm sure I'll miss the familiar things about home again soon, especially with many of them so magnified this past week, I kind of enjoyed being "home" in California more than I have other times today.  It's nice to see the sun and go for a walk on a whim, without having to bundle up.  It's nice to sit on the patio after watering the plants and see a hummingbird come to sip at the hibiscus (two blossoms today).  In driving to the grocery store & movies (we went to a matinee of "P.S. I Love You"), I found that my driving style is still in the laidback Wisconsin mode -- everyone else was zipping around/past me and I suppose within a week, I'll be back into aggressive/protective driving mode.

I'm happily full after a dinner of salmon & tortellinis, getting my head focused back towards work tomorrow...it will be an interesting day regardless, I think, seeing how things were when I was gone & catching back up there as well.  Husband & I are going to stay in for New Year's Eve, and we'll see if we make it to Midnight... we are old,  ha ;)

day to day, advent 2007, movies, missing wisconsin
