Hello everyone. This is my first time posting here since I saw the community on spotlight a while ago. :)
I still consider myself a yoga beginner. I took it for 2 semesters last year and fell completely in love. But since the class ended I haven't practiced very much at all. It helped me to have a routine twice a week that fit into my schedule. I was very motivated to go since it was for a grade and since each absence knocked 10 points off of our final grade. Now that the class is over, though, I can't seem to find time to fit it into my schedule. I have to sleep sometime! Also, even if I had the time to practice at home, I'd rather take a class so that I can learn new positions and have someone guide me through them if I need it. I don't have a car, so it would be pretty difficult for me to get to a class on a regular basis without riding the bus. Since I live in Memphis and have already been robbed at gunpoint this year, that doesn't seem like a good option for me. So I guess I'm asking for tips on the best way to get myself back in the habit of a daily routine and also get help with yoga without the help of classes.
Also, I have a question about balancing poses. I have VERY flat feet with no arch whatsoever. I've had extreme difficulty with balancing poses in the past, namely ones where I have to balance on one foot. It's not that I have pain in my legs or feet. I simply can't hold the positions. I just lose my balance and fall out of the position. The tree pose and the eagle pose are especially difficult for me. Even after doing the tree pose almost every day for a year, I was still unable to do it without losing my balance. What can I do about this?
