new to the light

Hello all.
I am just beginning yoga, just this week actually, and I am very much in love.
I'm 21 and trying to find my way to a healthier, happier existence. I have recently been very interested in Taoism and from that, searched for more ways to find peace. So, I found yoga =)

I was wondering how you all got started in yoga and what are the best ways to learn?
I'd like to do it on a daily basis but I don't really know how to go about doing it myself... and I really enjoy the classes. There's a semi-local studio by me that has $10 classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Unfortunately, I am in the medical field and I work night shift (7pm to 7am) and almost always keep this vampire-like schedule. So I can only go to the Tuesday evening classes, Gentle Yoga. Which is great because it's a beginner class, very slow and relaxing, but the instructor told me right away that she assumed I'd probably want something with a little more movement and energy. She's already right ;)

I love the class, but with my schedule I'm also considering videos or self training?
Are classes the best way to learn?
Any books or videos that you would recommend?
