ooo. i made a painting. ally took me to the paint store and suggested which ones i buy to start. then, we did a couple gradients and she went homeward. in the interim, i did another gradient, and made my first painting, which is a rather large (for the subject) painting of a red cube hovering over a pedestal in a green room, which has a lightning bolt and rain cloud over it. as novicey as it look, i'm quite excited about it, since tonight is the first time i can remember that i've used a brush to move paint around.
the whole idea, of course, is to move forward an idea for music representation. so far, though, the media i've used has been not the right color, or texture, or keeps breaking, or is irritating. ally suggested a while ago that i just need paint, but it took a couple tries to realize that, damn. all of these premixed colors are... WRONG!! they're ALL WRONG!!! the usual "do it yourself" thing, if i want it a certain way. it works out though. i may as well learn how to paint, right?
i'm not expecting much of it. mostly, i want to make data sets look pretty. but considering some of the cafe showings around town, maybe i could make a couple sales in the process. my lightning bolt cube will be selling for $380 because it isn't like anyone can do this. all inqueries please report to the main office immediately.
