I've just rented me an electric piano and it is super bad ass! While some critique might still shun them, thee Kawai seems to have done a rather bitchen job enought to impress someone who doesn't know much anything about pianos.

I've set a goal to get into PSU's music department next year as an actual member of the department. So, I have to be to a certain level of proficiency to get in. Like play a short piece by so and so, and one by whodeedoo, and then all sacles and arppeggios in 1/16 for each quarter = 60. So, not so bad if you've been playing for a long itme. I've just done my playing a long time ago.

Coming from about a 10 year break, aside from random pounding, I'm making some decent progress. Last week I had never played scales with both hands at the same time, and the first ones were terrifically crushing. How to do 24 of these, and then fast? No way! But somehow, my brain figured out the pattern, and now it is more tuning, and finding when I spaceout (which is when I fux up) I still have 2 more to add for majors, but otherwise, and do the rest at almost 60. (But not quite.)

I've gotten some literature to keep me excited, to get finger strenght and dexterity and endurance up, and there will soon be Chickenhedtheater: Liver than Dead! Whereinwhich you may here hits off of Yanni's album In the Mirror, the broady Wicked, "New Age Textures vol 1" Wind beneath my wings, Amy Grant... And MUCH MUCH MORE! It will definitely be good practice. Yanni definitely is helping with learning to play arpeggios smoothly.  We'll see if I can learn the whole album! Allright!!!

Anyway, looks like I have until August 1 to get ready. If I spend most of my time during the summer becoming a fabulousss pianoisto, it could work out! Then what? no idea!
