Oh Gillen, you magnificent fucking bastard. I had actual tears in my eyes by the end, and somehow, by some magic, THEY WERE NOT SAD TEARS. This issue [JiM #644 - editor] was beautiful. There's no other way to describe it. Simply beautiful. I can see why it was one of his favorites.
Of course, that just drives it home even more that the next issue will be the last of this run. Which is kind of depressing, but kind of joyful at the same time. Maybe Loki won't have the same companions, or the same playground, and everything will change, but that's really not bad, all things considered. He deserves more than being tied to Asgard(ia) for the rest of his life, and I'm excited to see where he'll go next and who he'll meet.
...anyway. Comics. Feelings! I think I've nearly talked myself into making a tumblr so that I can get this kind of stuff out of my system in a space that's more suited to it, but for this I really was so touched that I wanted it recorded. Beautiful beautiful beautiful.
