I'M TRYING TO PHONETICIZE MY REACTION TO THIS PROGRAM, BUT IT'S REALLY JUST A LONG, DRAWN OUT SIGH OF CONTENTMENT AND WONDER.
Seriously, this was the perfect thing to wake up to. I was too tired to wait for videos to surface last night, so I'm glad that at least by this point, they're all up and I don't have to wait even longer.
Anyway. THIS ROUTINE, OMG. The music is absolutely perfect for him - right up his alley, and he's always good at bringing out the emotion in a piece. The costume...UNF. Yeah, that's about all I got - the all-black training gear does it for me EVERY TIME. And, like, I would say something about dat ass, but it's pretty unnecessary, since anything involving Johnny also involves DAT ASS, and it is so glorious that mere words are no longer enough to describe it. (Also, equal parts lol and unf at his perma-hard nipples.) And god, legwarmers and a fucking tank top? Such eye candy. Even the makeup, which I couldn't make out clearly in other people's videos, just works for this. And that headband. And dat ass. Um.
But it's really the skating that makes this thing. He's got all his signature exhibition moves in there, as well as some signature competition moves, and it's all done in this slow, almost effortless style that's just a joy to watch. Very lyrical, very balletic, very Johnny in one of his emo phases and I love it. And fffffffffffffff, that layback spin? GOD DAMN, BOY, JUST KILL ME NOW WHY DON'T YOU??? It's all so...I don't know, it's like that old quote of Dick Button's, where he said that watching Johnny was like you'd stumbled upon him practicing alone in an empty arena, and that what you're seeing is a really private moment that isn't for anyone except him. And god, I don't know how he manages to skate so personally and still pull the audience in, but I love it so much.
So happy that we all get to see this, and happy that Johnny might not need so long of a break after all. Thanks for making this, Booboo, and I hope you have fun at the Derby!
All right, now I have to go finish getting ready so that I can go be absolutely humiliated for 20 minutes. Fucking 042, just tell me what I did wrong - don't make me watch it! Uggghhhhhhh. Then back to finish 052, because the graphing did not go so well last night, and then...idk, I'll either keep working on this skating deathmatch thing or I'll watch some old programs. Who knows? I'm just glad it's the weekend.
