For some reason I have this divine way of deeming myself responsible for far too many projects in an extremely short span of time. Luckily, most of them seem to work out okay.
Last night, Ashton and I went to Lafayette to get stuff for NHS and work on some projects at Barnes and Noble (it's so much more comfortable than a library). I’m amazed we got anything done. When we first got to B&N we sat down and got right to work…this was at 5:15 pm. After I got some work done I began to read… every now and then I would quote really cool lines to her as she worked on some note cards. We got up to have a 5 minute coffee break that ended up lasting about an hour and a half. It was so amazing but completely unintentional. We both had so much to say ranging from the Great Depression, socialism, Christianity, people and the way they think, our lives, people in our lives, and so on and so forth from extreme to extreme. Every couple of minutes I’d tell her to get back to work and we’d bow our heads for 30 seconds until one of us had another idea to discuss. We laughed at ourselves and said how it would be really interesting to tape our conversations, because not very many people realize what huge dorks we really are. The night lasted forever, but at the same time it went by too quickly. It’s funny how you can have such contradicting feelings when you are happy and comfortable. We ended up leaving B&N at 10:00…crazy.
It’s really great to have her as a friend because not only is she actually close to my age…but we’re also on the same mental level. Such a relief! Our values, morals, and passions are also very similar. We might not always agree on things, but we don’t really have to hold back anything because we have confidence in explaining our differences to the other.
I leave for Quebec next Tuesday night. I’m going on a trip with the French Club…even though I’m not in French. It’s going to be a great trip, I’ve always wanted to go deeper into Canada just because it is so much more European than basically anywhere in the US. I’m love to travel… I know this year is going to spoil me. Ireland and Canada in a three month span. Egad that’s cool!
Alright I am done being a dork now. I just wanted to say: Life is good!
