Adventure 2.0
So Friday of next week is my last day of union backed employment. After that I am "self"-employed. This morning I finished the first draft of my children's book. I will now spend the next several weeks/months editing/fixing and promoting my work. Hopefully I will have a publisher soon. I am hoping to make this into a series of books for grades 1-3. They use two of my favorite characters of all time. Kodi and Griffin. Someday I would like to include Bruce but we'll have to wait and see.
My vacation in Portland was very inspiring. I truly learned to appreciate my wife. She really is one of the most beautiful things to come into my life. Everyday is an adventure coated in sheer comfort. There is a very high chance that we will be moving there. If so, roles will be reversed for awhile. Meg will go back to work, probably in retail, hopefully not in something that costs her her soul. And I will stay at home, take care of the place, volunteer at the local library, write and go back to training. Team Quest in Portland was a fantastic thing to behold. Very good energy, positive working space and perhaps an opportunity to fight at least as an amateur level.
Things are looking good. Scary, but rollercoaster scary not freefalling without a parachute scary. Here's to a bright future full of ups and downs.
