I'll be cool one day!!!
For those of you who don't care, I work at Naturally Yours, a health food store on Old Shell Rd. Anyways, one of our suppliers (Solaray) sent a rep to take all the local health food clientele out for dinner at The Sunflower Cafe in Fairhope. It's an organic, veggie, dolphin-safe type a place. So me, Bety-Lou and Celeste (damn Hippies) drove over and had a very unique experience. First off, the place is very swank, and everyone's talking about health stuff.Then the rep starts pass'n around multi-vitamins and digestive enzymes for people to take. I don't know about you, but usually when I'm around people and pills, it's not really LJ entry material. Then we all ordered and the food was spectacular(all you veg-heads better go try some). While dining on Veggie Lasagna and sipping Certified Organic Raspberry Green Tea Soda, I learned about Antioxidants, Gamma E, Mangosteen and the like. Then suddenly I had a vision of the future of cool. Presently, cool is cigarettes, big tits, alcohol and booty calls. I think in like 2 or 3 years, cool will be much more pleasant and eco-friendly. Don't get me wrong, I mean, I did the drug scene, shit, I was smoking pot with your uncle at Mardi Gras in '93, throw'n empty Zima bottles at the damn floats. Future cool will be all about organic entrees, peace of mind & body, spiritual enlightenment and saving the environment. I just found out about these Dark Chocolate(which is actually good for you)candy bars that have pictures of different endangered species on the wrappers, and part of the proceeds go to saving that particular animal. How cool is that!?! I realize my vision of the future is probably what California is like right now, but hell, I've never been there.
