Long overdue!

wow......I'm loooooooooooooong overdue for an update it seems. Normally I probably wouldn't have updated, but in light of a particular person nagging me (I best be acknowledged for actually updating this from you little missy, or I'll be most displeased ;) ) and the fact that I still have some time before I get going, I figure I might as well update and keep people posted.

My life is going through a cycle really. I go to work Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Saturday, I hang out with my friends every couple nights for RPing and pretty much always on saturday, I see some friends from that group other times, sometimes I see other friends, I play lots of XI, I sleep, I eat, and I repeat lol. I really don't mind it all that much, sleep is good, I enjoy seeing my friends, food is tasty, XI owns my soul, and works gives me money, so they're all good things (except for the whole XI thing owning my soul, but I stay on there for different reasons nowadays ^_^), I think it'd be in my better interest to get myself outside of the box a little bit. It's the same thing with work really, I end up doing the same stuff over and over again at work (both when I'm working and during my free time) so it gets a little monotone when I reflect on it. I think it'd be in my better interests to find some new and fresh stuff ya know? And I'd like to think I've been taking baby steps in the right direction lol. Yesterday I went with my friends to nickel City, an aracade around 45 mins away or so 'cause they all wanted to play Initial D really bad, and it's like the nearest place that has it. That was a new experience, and I played 1 game of Initial, 2 of Tekken 3, 2 of Tekken Tag and 2 of D an D all for a buck, good times. Went and played Tekken 2 on the freeplay just for some kicks and giggles (oh man that game was sooooo bad lol). And today for example I finally got around to reading the book that my mom gave me as a tiny graduation present (my main present being my cell phone of course) about the man who proposed different business strategies to the Japanese and changed their economy. And I mean don't get me wrong it's interesting, but it's fairly repetitive (it's kinda one of those books where you could get the main jist in about 3 pages, they just spend the other 200 or so emphasizing, enforcing, providing good examples/analogies, etc) so it's really hard to keep my focus and interest (only read 3 chapters). I'm thinking I may go off and buy the next harry potter book though. I don't own any of the other ones, but I read the series 'cause my sister owned them all. I'm not like a huge harry potter fan, but they are good books and I know it's both an easy and an interesting read, so I think it'd be a good idea to pick one up to read at work, it'd be something that's different from the norm at work, but still keeps my interest.

Another big issue that's been going on with me lately besides my horribly reptitious tendencies would have to be my parents. Lately my parents and I have been stepping on each others toes, and it mainly comes down to mindset. To them, my video gaming is horribly excessive, must be monitored, and restricted. To me, it's excessive (yes I'll admit that), I've earned my free time, and when school starts I'll make sure to get the job done. After all, shouldn't I be able to spend my free time how I see fit? Another example is work around the house. To my father, only doing what he asks of me is the bare minimun. Techinally that is true, no denying that, but if he wants more, shouldn't he ask of more? To me, if he gives me a specific task he's saying "John this is all I want you to do, if you do it you're fine". I've been given requirements, and I'm fulfilling them. Mission accomplished, pack it up and go home lol. I do understand his point, but doesn't it make sense that I should do what's asked and that should be fine? Plus my parents are still being very free with me on my choices and what i do in life......but sometimes they try to restrict certain actions I do, in what I consider a somewhat illogical manner. I mean, I hate to do the typical "I'm an adult" agrument, because even though I am one legally I am well aware that I am not independent yet and some ways I haven't developed mentally as an adult, but sometimes I feel that they're trying to restrict privilages that I feel I have a right to, not them. It's why part of me wishes I had more responsibilites so then I'd be able to designate the choices in my life how I see fit (ironic eh? how often do you hear somebody ask for MORE responsibility? ;). I just say that because I know that I need to be more responsibile to get more hearsay in controlling my own life). Anyways, I think that's enough ranting on that subject for now, sorry to go all Emo on you guys ;).

anyways, I think it's about time to wrap it up. I still have to post this on my Xanga (first time posting on LJ first ironically enough) and in a lil bit I'll have to close up the office and such. Hopefully I'll get around to posting again sooner or later, but hey I promise nothing lol. Take care everybody, leave comments all the cool kids are doing it ;)
