On Saturday, Seth texted and said something along these lines: "
puddingsworth misses you! It's my last weekend in town! Come have lunch with us!" Unshowered and elbow-deep in a painting project, I weighed my friendship obligations against my selfish desire to craft. Friendship won out, but that's only because he played the 'last weekend in town' card. It gets me every time.
Anyway, we had sushi with some of his friends. On the way home, I bought a bag of Chex-Mix to get rid of the sushi flavor.
Today we clipped the chickens' wings. I know the photo looks like animal cruelty, but it's just cutting off some feathers so they can't fly over the fence. Now they can roam! Roam like the wind!
By total coincidence, while photographing the Great Chicken Clipping of 2013, I discovered that my digital camera has gone the way of the dinosaurs. Look at those lines. They got progressively worse after the first two pictures. There's a lot of technology I can do without (tablet, smart phone), but I am going to replace the camera posthaste.
Today I baked a cherry cheesecake that was terrible (ricotta cheese, what was I thinking?) and mushroom-meat meatballs, which weren't half bad!
