Hang on, everybody-I wanna try something I saw in a cartoon once!

At last! History of Documentary Film is over! That 6-week-long grueling test in patience has finally ended, and I think (think being the key word, because not only is our teacher computer-illiterate, but insists on using eLearning) my final grade is a B. And you know what? Good riddance. It's not like Dr. K wasn't a nice man, but he wandered so much that I eventually gave up trying to keep notes. Most of the early documentaries he showed were too long (we once watched a two-hour documentary about documentaries); thankfully, the latter end of the session was more modern stuff, like the excellent Fog of War and Man on Wire. We also watched Michael Moore's Capitalism, but half the class hated the guy's guts, so the conversation turned kind of hostile. (One woman was all, "People who lost their homes deserved it because they tried living out of their means", and another dude kept bringing up the Bible so much that I was thinking, "Let it gooo!")

Printmaking is over, too. What an awesome class. Everyone brought food for the final critique (I baked oatmeal cookies!) and offered feedback for the prints. Session B classes started Thursday (I'm taking Script Writing), but the teacher wasn't actually there, so the sub had us watch Overnight, a documentary about Troy Duffy, the writer and director of The Boondock Saints. I couldn't tell whether Duffy's personality pissed off Miramax, or if Miramax just decided not to do the film, but in either case, Duffy is seriously explosive.

I've been baking a lot lately. Besides the critique cookies, I also made a Father's Day cake. Dad got the first one (which came out dry because we were out of apples). Grandpa got the second cake, which turned out like this:

Friday I attempted a lemon tart that came out undercooked, but the next day I gave a batch of mini blueberry pies a try, and they were awesome! Fear me, fear my measuring cups (which are heart-shaped)!

Dan and I had lunch at our favorite Vietnamese place yesterday. AND HAS ANYONE SEEN THE A-TEAM YET? That movie was a blast. I really liked Sharlto Copley in District 9, and I loved him in this, too. Actually, I loved all those guys! My baby bro and I saw it last weekend, and I would totally recommend it (despite most of its scientific impossibility).

Spent tonight teaching Uncle J how to play Sudoku. He got it... eventually.

P.S. Because I just want to show my baby off:
