sore but happy

Yesterday I finished the frikkin' frackin' tulip garden for the kids' homeschool co-op. This involved carrying shovelfuls of heavy, wet sod bricks from the back of the house to the front yard for over an hour. Blister city.

After dinner, I went to the gym with the goal of increasing half my weights by 5-10 lbs. each. I do circuit training on 14 machines as part of my physical therapy, then I reward myself with time on a stationary bike. I hit a groove, completely unexpected after doing all that shoveling, and increased my weights by 10 lbs. on every machine. Then I did 12.6 miles on the bike. W00t!

I felt awesome afterward. Now? Now I hurt. *lol* But I'm excited. I started on all the machines at 10 lbs. (the lowest setting) and now I'm up to 25-70 lbs. on all of them. Last year this time I was shuffling; I couldn't even pick up my feet. I feel fantastic now.
