End of summer greetings

Goodness, it's been quite a while since I posted here. The past few months have gone by just like that.

It's Helena, of course. She takes up all my energy and thoughts and I've never been happier in my life even though one of my nipples got horribly chapped and then infected because of that damned breast pump. Being a mother makes everything else ( Read more... )

I'm...fine. There was some upheaval at the office in December and the dust is still settling. It's frustrating, but nothing I can't cope with.

It's quite simple, really. Crane, Poole & Schmidt was teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, and a Chinese corporation took the opportunity to add us to its already impressive collection of law firms.

It's...a very different place these days.

Are we part of a collective. No more than any other firm. Less so, in fact, as there's a considerable gulf between the new regime management and us holdovers from the firm's glory days.

Rest assured, however, they are staunchly--aggressively, even--capitalist.
