Earlier that day....
Yamapi was on a rare day off. He didn't have any dramas to shoot, any TV appearances to go to, any photos to pose for. He was entirely free for the day. Of course, he chose to get out of Tokyo to go sightseeing. And what better place than Kyoto?
Suddenly, his cell phone rang. He looked at the screen. Jin. He sighed and rolled his eyes. If Jin wasn't his best friend... "Hai?"
"Pi, where are you?" Jin's tone sounded urgent. Though knowing Jin, he could be stressing about anything from the effect of the weather on his hairstyle, to trouble with his bandmates.
"Wait, what's this about, Jin?"
"This is about me asking you where you are!" Jin's tone got even more urgent. Pi was starting to get worried about this.
"Eh...ano, Jin..."
"Come on, Pi, just answer!" Jin almost sounded panicky, and Yamapi was confused and a bit worried. What was it? Why didn't Jin just tell him already? But then, it was Bakanishi, after all. He decided he'd better tell Jin already, before the other went hysterical.
He answered a bit cautiously. He wasn't going back to the office on his rare day off. Well, unless there was a real emergency, and not just a Jin hair emergency or something.
"Ah, sou... What are you doing there? I dropped by your place right now and no one was there, so I was worried!" Pi smiled at Jin's tone. His best friend probably had time to kill, too. Otherwise, he wouldn't have randomly dropped by Pi's house. And if it was a real emergency, well...someone else would probably have called or mailed him by now. After all, who would tell Bakanishi to relay serious news? Then Pi heard the his friend muttering something he couldn't quite catch. Something about a hair dryer and NEWS costumes and...wait, NEWS costumes?!?!?!
"Oi, Akanishi! Did you say something about the NEWS costumes?! What are you doing with NEWS costumes?!" Pi yelled into the receiver.
"Iya, iya, iya, nothing happened, Pi-chan." Jin said hurriedly, in a way that made Pi instantly suspicious. "So, where are you anyway? I've been looking for you all over, when I really should be heading to the studio by now."
"I'm sightseeing, of course, baka. I don't have work today, so I headed over here to relax. What..."
Pi was interrupted yet again by another outburst from the other end. "How can you go sightseeing at such a time?!?!" Jin practically shouted in his ear. "And in Kyoto, too! Why couldn't you have stayed in Tokyo?!"
"Ah, sumimasen," Pi answered, still unsure. What did Jin want? Why was he calling? And why was he so frantic about Pi going sightseeing? It wasn't as if they had plans together....wait, did they? "Ano, Jin..."
"Are you staying over?" Jin demanded, interrupting Pi.
"Eto, hai, I thought I'd stay over, since I don't have to get back to Tokyo until the day after tomorrow."
"Well, where are you staying?" Pi could hear other people talking in the background. Where was Jin, anyway?
"Ano, Jin, why are you asking? What's this about?"
Jin sounded extremely irritated at this. "This is about me asking you where you are right now, Yamashita! I don't have all day!" Jin let out a little huff. "I still have to work today, you know, unlike some people! Shows to film, photoshoots to pose for, interviews. I'm an idol! And, I was also voted #1 in several surveys for the most wanted lover in Japan. It's a lot of hard work to keep all the girls from fainting because of my HOTness! I'm tired and I'm hungry and I still don't know where to find you!"
Now Yamapi was even more confused. Jin never called him "Yamashita"...unless he was really angry or irritated. And why would Jin call him and ask him where he was if the other guy had work today? He didn't even complain about work...that much, anyway. So, why had he called Pi now to ask where he was and then sound irritated because he still had work to do? It didn't make sense. But then, a lot of the things Bakanishi did didn't make sense. So Yamapi told him the name of the hotel. But still, Jin wasn't satisfied. "What room? I know you never register under your name, after all - none of us ever do. So, come on, Pi, room number, hayakku!" Jin was sounding more and more impatient, and by now, Pi knew his friend wouldn't answer any questions. After all, he hadn't answered anything Pi had asked; he'd just demanded answers to his own questions. So Pi gave in and told him.
"Ah, so you'll have a nice view ne..." Someone spoke on Jin's end, and Pi supposed he moved the phone to tell whoever it was, "Chotto matte, chotto matte. Hai, I'll be right there."
"Jin?" Pi asked. Jin might have forgotten he was still on the other end of the line, after all.
"Ah, Pi, I have to go, ja, ne..."
"Jin? Jin? Oi, JIN!" The only answer Pi got was silence. Jin had already hung up on him. He stared blankly at his phone for a moment. Now, why did Jin call, in the first place? All he'd done was ask questions about where Pi was. And he had the nerve to scold Pi. It wasn't as if he had called Jin and initiated an incomprehensible conversation~!
Pi shrugged and put away his phone. Today was a rare day off, and a single frantic yet pointless Jin call was not going to spoil his day. Jin was always often incomprehensible, anyway. Pi let out a small huff. The things he had to put up with for having Jin as his best friend...

Seemingly unconnected to anything and everything, isn't it? And I don't think anyone will know what I'm talking about here...but anyway~!
