And surely you'll find me at my office. Disgruntled, in pain, but still alive. Disgruntled, though.
Standing next to the door on the c-train means you have to move out of the way before the door opens. I'm okay with that. I can do it. Provided the people around me are considerate enough to give me space. Unfortunately, large Mr. Man decided at 1st street station that he didn't wanna. In fact, he just wanted to get off the train and leave me smooshed behind the door. I wouldn't give him that much, so he settled for my heel instead. And he got it good.
After an astonished inhalation from me, looking down and seeing a chunk of skin flapping about my heel, I was smart enough to remove the strap of my sandal so at least nothing would be rubbing my raw wound. I really do need to start keeping tissues and bandaids in my purse again, because I was fresh out. So I left a nice little blood trail during the 10 minute walk from the train station to my office. Of course, the only thing I got was a disgusted/pained look from some lady who saw me stop at the Second Cup to grab a napkin and try to mop up some blood.
Anyway, let's just say I'm a little grumpy this morning cuz my foot hurts. Not much I can do about it, so might as well try to make the most of it...actually, I don't even know what that's supposed to mean in this situation. What I mean is that I'll try to suck it up and not let it affect how I treat people today. It's the least I can do...
