Well, at least compared to last year.
BoilerMan 2010 was an official success!! I dropped 27 minutes from last year. Twenty-seven minutes!!! Now, granted, some of that time from last year was devoted to wrecking and reparing my bike from the wreck, but that was 5 minutes at the absolute maximum, so I still improved by more than 20 this year.
My swim was 3 minutes better, my bike was more than 1 mph faster than my previous best, and my run was more than 2 minutes better per mile. And of course, no wrecks this year either. ^_^;
And I felt good too. Last year, I was completely miserable the whole run. This year, I didn't start to get noticably tired until the last half mile. It was amazing! My parents, sister, and niece all came to watch me, and around mile 4 of the run, I ran by their spot. I didn't realize what I was doing until I heard my mom say to my dad, "Wow, she's smiling." I just...felt good!
All those weeks of training hard really paid off. Now I'm super pumped for my next few races (cross country/trail runs). I've still got a ton of room for improvement, but I finally feel like I have something to show for my efforts.
