but then also, it got angsty. like, minimal-amount-of-dustin-banter angsty.

I think it was a combination of blinders and, with those blinders, following advice that Mark convinced himself would make the most business sense. My head-canon is that Mark talked himself into thinking that Eduardo would agree that it made sense for the company.

That is SO TRUE, and, yeah, I think it sums up the movie for me, too.
